This wooden puzzle is great! The wood is sturdy but not too heavy, and can withstand my toddler banging the pieces around. I’m a fan of the bigger chunky knob, which is easier for my little one to hold on to as he develops his fine motor skill. It’s developmentally appropriate for my one year old and he’s learning to match the animal shapes. The colors are fun but not over stimulating.

The media could not be loaded. This toy is a hit. It’s Alara approved. My favorite part of this toy is the big knobs. They are the perfect size for her hands. It’s helped her with her fine motor skills. I love seeing her progress in real-time. This video is the first time she got one of the pieces back into the hole all the way and she was very proud. You’re getting quality with your money. It’s not going to break with rough hands. I’ve bought other puzzles and they don’t hold up. You end up wasting money buying a bunch of cheap ones. It’s her first puzzle and it is such good quality. It’s not too heavy or too difficult. She’s 15 months and has really starting engaging with puzzles. We watch Miss Rachel and Sesame Street and I sing her the song and point to the animals along with Miss Rachel. It really drives home the point with music and she’s learning even faster since I’ve starting doing this. There are screws in the product and my daughter has messed with them and none of the screws have loosened at all. In my mind I’m aware of the screws and inspect all her toys each day for any signs of weakness. I recommend doing that anyway with every toy. No matter the quality inspect your children’s toys.

Absolutely love Melissa and Doug products. As a speech language pathologist this is such a great toy to target early language skills. My 18 month old loves to make animal noises and match up the animals. Very durable.

I purchased M&D puzzles for my daughter and she loved them. My grandson loves them too. The pieces are big and the big knob allows him to hold and work on getting it back in its spot. The quality is spot on. Will be buying more very soon.

Perfect for my nephews birthday - the puzzle quality is great! It is a bit big so hard to store, but overall happy with it.
