Works great after our last one stopped working. Perfect replacement piece that fits our 60 pound little perfectly. Easily set to work with our current system.

Golden!
This product has saved my sanity and greatly enhanced our Golden Retriever’s quality of life! No more “Houdini acts” from our dog Boomer since installing this system. Setup- The instructions are clear and thorough. I was able to set the system up within two days, covering over an acre of land. The hardest part of the setup was twisting the wires back to the house for a neutral line, but once using a power drill, it went quickly. I did buy extra wire and flags. We have a tight space around part of our home, but also a wide open space that stops at the tree line/ natural yard and the A setting works perfectly. I buried all the wire close to the house but waited for falling leaves to cover the most of spots near the tree/ brush line. Training- I took 2 days to train but I continued the training up for 3 more days just to be sure our dog understood his space. He was definitely timid for a couple of weeks and cautiously explored his new parameters before he was able to 100% enjoy his free time/ roaming. We played with him in the larger spaces to make sure he understood he wouldn’t get a beep or shock for fetching a ball within the flagged area. I kept the flags up for about two to three months, slowly removing them once I was certain our pup was familiar with his boundaries. Golden Retrievers are notoriously one of the more difficult breeds to contain with these sorts of systems. From experience, even with being out in the yard with him constantly, if my attention wasn’t 100% on him, our Golden would dart away in a second to visit neighbors. He was determined to spread his sunny personality with everyone he could before getting outted or frantic calling to come home. Collar Battery- The collar stays charged for an extremely long period of time. Our Golden isn’t testing the boundaries regularly so there isn’t extra strain on the device. The most he needs is a beep to move back to his safe space. Full disclosure- We do not leave our Golden outside when we are away, even for a quick outing. He is able to be trusted while we are at home to do his business and a solo stroll around the property. We do have to keep an eye out for him still, mainly because he’s become a hole digger. We have neighboring dogs that come into his parameter and play, but he stays in his designated area regardless. We also have children that use our yard as a path between neighborhoods and he is a “good boy” whether they give him attention or not. Customer service-We purchased this unit 9/12/21 and the collar stopped turning on but was still charging. I contacted customer service, spoke with a lovely representative, and a new device free of charge is being sent in the next 3 to 5 days. I don’t even think he will notice but for now he has a remote training collar on for a “just in case.”

An amazing system
An amazing system. Really worth the money for my use. The super long lasting charge on the collar, plus the surge protector coupled with yardmax mode has been really great. Yardmax really does work although it is sort of unbelievable that it can tell which direction the dog is headed. I tried dozens of times and it was correct every time. I even used the legendary three wall mode, though there are very few references to it and lots of experts claim it doesn't work. Some say it does. Basically, it allows you to run the wire around the three walls of your back yard. You make your forth wall by driving an 8-10ft copper rod into the ground (use a water digger, big, thin steel conduit with a hose hooked up to it to do most of the hole drilling for you. You can get the EMT Conduit, an adapter allowing you to connect your hose to it, the copper rods and even the sledgehammer to drive them all at homedepot. Saves lots of heartache.) You put one copper rod where the fence starts and one where the fence ends. If you drove them in the correct spots, and your dirt is capable of connecting the two grounding rods (mine are 30 feet apart, in western Denver) the fence will set off for all three real sides but not the virtual copper dirt wall, yet it will maintain the link. So basically: Neighbors yard -------------------- Left | | Right | | | | | | &**###***********& My house The &s represent the copper rods sunk fully into the ground and the dashes/hyphens are where I laid the cable. The # represent the location of my controller. The dog can cross any asterisk without the collar beeping. Approach to # beeps/shocks, as well as any approach/traverse of a | or -. My understanding is this concept was born with the Innotek brand, which petsafe acquired and turned into the yardmax (Exact same technology. I also am quite sure this technique does not work with any other petsafe product). This allows me not to have to wire my entire front yard, which I may do some day but this is a very convenient setup for me. Also note that petsafe does not suggest/recommend or even endorse this method but it's been working for 7 months from the peak of summer to the dead of winter. I wish petsafe did acknowledge this potential feature even though it wouldn't work for everyone, as it is great to have. The only real complaint I have is the collar is too quiet. They say the dog can hear regardless of the volume but that doesn't help me when I can't train the dog because I can't hear it going off.

Installed it around a 1 acre garden. Digging in the wire was easier than expected since it doesn't have to go deep. Did it manual with a straight shovel. Once installed, testing was easy and it turned out to be much more reliable than the wireless version that i tried before. There is about 3-4meter height difference in my garden so that may be the reason I had to send the wireless version back and installed the in-ground one. Our dog was quick to learn and understand the boundaries and following the recommended training schedule, I was able to let her off leash in 2 weeks of training (supervised). Even with big distractions like seeing neighbour walking her dog or throwing her favourite toy over the border, she stays within the boundaries. Use a long leash to grow confidence in the system and your dog. For those wondering if your dog suffers from the stimulation (getting zapped): our dog (mini australian shepherd / border collie mix) with short fur yelped once at the lowest stimulation level and got zapped once maybe twice only after which she understood the boundaries. Not worse than when someone steps on her paws by accident. Beats getting hit by a car in my book!

Worked perfectly as an add-on collar for my Dad's dog when we looked after him along with our dog with the Petsafe Yardmax perimeter fencing that we had already

I just love my petsafe Yardmax system. I love the fact that I can let my dog play outside with the kids without being constantly watching if he's going on my neighbor's half grass (we live in a semi-detached house). It took so little time to train our dog and we now only put him his collar every once in a while. The only con would be that since we installed it 4 months ago the collar started to shock our dog twice for absolutely nothing (dog was inside the house).
