Q: Why does the description say aluminum alloy but the photos show it being compared to stainless steel and the red "X" is on the broken alloy?

I have the same question. I bought these about 2 years ago and now the spinning ring on one of the holders is broken, identical to how it is shown in the 2nd picture for aluminum alloy rings. How can I get replace spinning rings that are stainless steel?

Q: Any suggestions on how to stop the hooks from getting stuck on the tightening screws?

Make sure you install with the set screw of the top ring above the rotating ring and the set screw of the bottom ring below the rotating ring. Then, based on the size of your flag, adjust the rings the appropriate distance so there is slight tension so the carabiners don't catch on the head of the set screw. Occasionally the flag may catch on a set screw and wrap around the pole, but proper installation keeps it to a minimum. Years of experience with various flags in the winds of Hatteras Island.

Q: Are these made in usa?

Don't know, but they are solidly constructed of aluminum, not cheap plastic.

No, ANF they were to small for the aluminum flag pole we have
