I won't write about my experience with CoQ10 in general, as that is somewhat subjective and hard to quantify. A friend wanted to take a LARGE dose of CoQ10 as part of an anti-parasite program she was following. So I looked high and low for a good quality CoQ10 that was also high potency and at a reasonable price. I have used numerous Doctor's Best products (currently and in the past). My research indicates they are a good quality brand. I am a subscriber to an independent supplement testing group, and Doctor's Best always comes up with a clean slate. What they say is in the product is what's in there. They never come up positive for impurities. This 400mg CoQ10 product from Doctor's Best is now my Q10 of choice. Whilst ordering it for my friend I got some for myself. I use it daily for now, as I wish to see what 400mg of CoQ10 each day does for me (nothing quite like first hand experience). Doctor's Best have added Black Pepper Extract into the formula to enhance bio-availability. I did some research online and I see there is some (not a lot, but enough to warrant its use, I think) medical research indicating black pepper extract will enhance CoQ10 uptake. That's interesting, because I already knew of other research in the USA which showed black pepper MASSIVELY (up to 2000x, from memory) increases the effectiveness of turmeric as a health supplement (these particular studies were related to use of turmeric (and curcumin extract) in the treatment of cancer). So it seems black pepper in fact has an ability to improve the bio-availability of various natural substances. This appears to be a vegan/vegetarian friendly formula. Vegetable caps, and (as far as I can ascertain) plant derived ingredients. I recommend the Doctor's Best brand in general, and I recommend this product. If you don't need 400mg in one dose, this brand also has a range of other potencies available.
