The wire is stranded copper 10 gauge American Wire Gauge measurements. Metric size is 2.5882 and mm2 is 5.26 using standard conversion tables available online.

Short answer no. Best solution for getting the most out of your amplifier and limit the loss of power thru heat which happens becuase of resistance in the wire and what the wire is made of and the size of the wire(guage). This wire is not OFC wire regardless of what the ad says. It is Aluminum wire coated in a copper layer. I sent mine back when I relized this. Price should of been my warning but took a chance. For the set up you asked about I would say 8 to 10 guage Oxygen Free Copper Wire in whatever length you need it in. Expect to pay around $25 to $35 for about 10 feet. Sound will still come out of your speakers with CCA wire, but you are not getting the full performance of your system using it. Good Luck

NEC has 10awg at about 30amps, but your insulation can change that a bit. A typical 10awg wire would not want to be pushed over 2400watts continuously with that rating. Since this wire doesn't have markings or ratings I can really see I wouldn't push the norm.

Q: Is this good for a subwoofer??

Perfect! I'm running 3 Rockford P2's to a 1000W amp... No distortion and excess noise or feedback.
