Amazon lists the 21272 as being a single line feed, though the greenworks site lists it as a dual line -can someone confirm for me please?

It is a dual line and you can get replacements by searching for PA66-G30 which is in the spool. Just bought an extra 6 pack on amazon for 9.99.

What is the height of the product?

Don't know exactly (can't get at it to measure right now) but the handle can be extended so it is a comfortable distance so a medium height person can hold it so the bottom (guard and cutting lines) reaches the ground. I would estimate 36 to maybe 44 inches.

Can I purchase string for this and wind it myself instead of buying the prestrung spools? I have done that for years with my Black and Decker trimmer

Yes you can. Winding the sting is not a problem. Putting the spool back into the trimmer is not as easy as your B&D.

I have been seeing reviews that say it's powerful. Does that only apply to the 10 amp or is the 4 amp impressive as well?

The 10 Amp is certainly the more powerful of the two. The 4 Amp is quite adequate for normal household use.
