I’m sorry, but i’m new to this and confused with the mountain mixture. i thought this would be white and thicker to do mountains. how is this used ?

From watching some of his later videos, he stated that he made the mountain mixture so you wouldn't have to mix the paints to get the dark color. It is used as the dark base color for the mountain before you add the white for highlights. You want this paint to be thinner since the white is very thick. You need a thin paint in order for the thick white paint to be applied over it and achieve the look you want. In Bob Ross's later videos, you will see him use mountain mixture. Hope this helps.
