this... I am on my second re-read already, and I plan on doing way more. This is an INCREDIBLE book that has opened so many avenues of knowledge that I was completely ignorant of before. I have recommended it to everyone because I really believe it should be a compulsory read. It's full of well-researched information, but not hard to read at all. Just get it.

I am learning so much from this book. It is amazing. I lent it from a library because it is an academic book and I couldn't imagine wanting it. But there are so many amazing, depressing, inspiring historical facts in it. I think it will become my standard text

Caliban and the Witch was one of those rare books where I even read all of the footnotes. The scope of the book and the eloquence with which she puts forward her ideas have left me thinking and talking about this book for months.

Extremely relevant, especially during the so-called "COVID pandemic". If you want to understand how power dynamics operate in the world, buy this.

Not foucauldian at all, but a nice marxist approach to the witch hunts from a feminist and post colonialist perspective. In terms of gender is a bit old fashioned, it still considers it to be reducible to class. A lot of peripheral contexts are ignored (e.g. Portugal, Greece, the Balkans)

You’ll want to smash the patriarchy by page 4. Twice.

This books gives the reason for the most horrifying events in history, links it to colonialism & present day exploitation & how murder for profit in early capitalism still affects communities today.

This is one of the most eye-opening books one could possibly read. It weaves history and theory and is a joy to read.
