Helpful while removing fleas from dogs
I bought this spray to use in addition to another flea product (drops applied to the dog's shoulder). I would not recommend using this spray as your only treatment, it should be used in addition to a flea and tick product. The bottle states to use 25-35 sprays for a small dog. My tiny chihuahua was thoroughly wet after 15 sprays or so, but my (much larger) lab required a good 40 or 50 sprays total. I used up about half the bottle between my two dogs. It smells strong, so use in a well ventilated area, or outdoors. Not too badly chemical, just very perfumey. It does help remove fleas - immediately after spraying my dog I could see them crawling out of his fur - and you have to comb your dog's fur after to get the fleas off. It took me roughly two hours of spraying and combing to remove most (if not all) of the visible fleas. I didn't find any ticks on my dogs, and ticks are not relly found in the city where I live, so I can't rate its effectiveness against ticks. However it is useful against fleas, and I followed up with a bath, my dogs have been flea-free so far. This spray is also great for use on the carpet and on pet's bedding. The bottle instructs you to spray bedding/floor/etc until damp and let dry. The main active ingredients in this product are insect growth regulators, which helps prevent flea eggs from hatching. You will still need a product to kill live fleas and ticks. Very pleased that it didn't leave any stains on the rug, so I was able to spray the dog's bedding and the surrounding area really well. I'd be amazed if it lived up to its' claims and actually provides protection for 7 months, but if you're actively fighting an infestation this spray makes a difference. It stops flea eggs from hatching and interrupts fleas from being able to lay eggs, which is good because less eggs = less fleas!

Works Pretty Well
The "other" brand that looks a lot like this bottle... guess they're all blue.... made my little dog practically have a seizure. We ended up washing it off of him right away. Had one of these with some left over and gave it a try at the sink ready to wash, rinse, and repeat. Worked like a charm....no shakes, trembling... My three dogs hate getting sprayed with anything..they don't like this. They don't like anything that sprays. It's how I keep them under control when the door bell rings... carry a spray bottle with me and they keep their distance. I just wave it and hiss...works if I want to get them out of a room too... just pick up a spray bottle and give them the stink eye. Anyway, this works pretty good... nothing works completely....but diligence... spray the yard, spray the dogs, spray the house.... probably going to seize myself from all these chemicals... but anything is better than all this itching... And we're about flea free by now... We did like this just because the fleas die almost on contact and the dogs don't have any bad reactions (other than to run around the house in terror)....

Fight the Battle!
We must fight the fleas! Summer is wet and hot this year and fleas are thirsting for the blood of mutts. We have had the yard sprayed a few times and keep the dogs clean and on a flea treatment. but every now and then the fleas will find a way. We use this spray as a supplemental to our other regimes. It works decent enough.I flea brushed one of the dogs and got two fleas off of himand sprayed this directly on the feas, they did not die right away but did perish within the 10 minutes as stated on the label. It has a decent smell but you can still smell the chemical, it almost pierces your brain and if we spray the hounds and they start rough housing, biting each others necks then they will "gaaack" a little when tasting this spray.Used in the proper capacity this stuff works well. It is the exact same stuff thats in the cat spray and the smaller bottles. buy the big bottle and save yourself some money. All fleas must die.I deducted one star for the hot-needle-in-the-brain chemical smell.

Works against ticks!
Ticks are the Tennessee state bird and a form of precipitation and regular monthly treatments were not enough to protect my dog. At the end of every day they were on her belly, in her armpits and between her toes. This spray protects her for about a week even when hiking in deep woods. The smell doesn't bother me and she does not seem interested in licking off the chemicals. She doesn't like being sprayed, but quickly forgets with a treat and a bit of play. Do NOT use indoors.
