Q: How is the image quality if i were to place this on a Lumix G5 since there's no image stabilization?

To avoid blurry images use the reciprocal rule.. Focal length of 25mm(2x crop = 50mm) - be sure to use a shutter speed of 1/50s or faster.Blurry images mean objects or people moving in your image.

Q: Will this lens work on a Panasonic Lumix G5?

This lens will work on a G5 or any other camera using a micro 4/3 mount.

Q: How does this compare to the Oly 45mm 1.8 as far as IQ and the lack of OIS? I want to use it on a Panny GM-1.

The Olympus 25mm/1.8 shares similar properties with the 45mm/1.8. Similar good workmanship (plastic body), similar size, similar good image quality. There is no image stabilization in the lens. The IS of my E-M5 works equally good on both lenses. I do not know how it performs on the Panasonic GM-1, but both lenses are great on the E-M5.In comparison, the Olympus 17mm/1.8 has a somehow higher quality rating due to it's metal body, but the image quality is slightly worse.

Q: Does this lens not have zoom capabilities?

It does not zoom. It's fixed at 25mm, which is equivalent to 50mm in 35mm lens terms. At that focal length, it's a perfect all around lens - street shooting, medium portraiture, it can do it all. Quite sharp, I think. Like it a lot.
