I purchased this water bottle for two rats to use. The provided metal hook should allow you to fasten it to any cage that is tall enough. After two months of use, I have had no issues with the water bottle leaking either from the nozzle or the drip while in use. When you are first attaching the bottle, there is some slight leakage from the drip just because the process usually involves some shaking around which displaces the metal ball. Keep this in mind if you are placing it over an area that you would prefer to stay dry.

I am happy with this product. It is replacing a flat mounted clear bottle by Kaytee that cracked when its cage mounting clip failed. What I like about this bottle is the sturdiness of the material. It is a softer plastic that won't crack if the animals knock it over (my guinea pigs are rambunctious). Pros: Sturdy soft bottle Holds 32 Oz of water Nice drawings on the side. Low cost Cons: * Really cheap mounting clip. The mounting slides around causing the bottle to fall. I got around this problem by crimping the loops to the cage and using electrical tape to squeeze the clips onto a stable position. The mounting is one wire loop at the top and one loop at the bottom. * The roundness of the bottle makes mounting it outside the cage difficult. The spout is not long enough to comfortably reach into the cage. The "pigs" would not drink from the externally mounted bottle. Mounting the bottle in the cage could be dangerous. Before solving the first issue above, the clip would slide and release the bottle. The weight of a fully filled bottle would likely flatten the "pigs". Fortunately, I kept them from the cage during my experiments. * The water level is hard to see. My previous bottle was clear and had a little yellow plastic bird inside the bottle. You could see the water level by looking at the bird. While the Cons seem to overwhelm the Pros, the opposite is true.inexpensive, sturdy and clumsy easily trump breakable. You never realize the volume of 32 oz of water until your bottle cracks and leaks all over the floor.

I love the size of these. They work well in the summer for our rabbits. My issues are they are narrow mouthed and hard to fill. Our rabbits are outside and in the winter when they freeze the bottles are hard to get the ice out of with the narrow mouthed, and not easy to clean. Would have done 4 stars but one of the three of ours leaks really badly after just a few days use. Might need to replace the ring in it already.

So I ordered two of these probably back in January and a HUGE box appeared on my doorstep, way bigger than needed! It was pretty comical actually, seeing the size of this box in relation to the size of the product inside. Unfortunately, only one of them was in the box (almost even more funny, because you probably could have fit 20 of these things in that box). Contacted customer service, they were decently quick to respond and got my replacement to me in about a month. A little slow, but I can’t complain since they sent me 2 (probably just resending my original order.) I breed rats and use these for a rat rack. They’re not my favorite to go in the rack, as the little blue piece extends down pretty far and doesn’t have a good angle trying to go through the wire mesh used with the rack, but if you’re using for a cage they’d be perfect. Really can’t compare with that price, and even though they almost sit on their side in my rat rack it still functions the way it should. So between price, product, and customer service, I’m very happy! Will try and add pictures later.

I have 3 rats and needed to have new water bottles for their cages and an extra spare water bottle just in case something happened to one that I was using. The smaller 8oz bottles just don't seem to work as well as these larger bottles and the rats or hamsters really have to work at getting the water to come out. These larger water bottles have a larger nozzle which lets more water come out and the rats don't have to work as hard to get the water to come out. Plus I've never had one of these larger water bottles stop working unlike the smaller 8oz bottles which seem to stop working all the time. I would recommend these larger water bottles over the smaller ones any day.
