Q: are these cards as thick as the spiral bound pages?

No, they are not that thick, but not as thin as normal, regular flash cards either. I think they hold up well, not terribly easy to bend, etc., but not too heavy for little hands to carry around or to snap them onto a bag, etc.

Q: I am not sure whether I should get this or the regular books. Can anyone tell me what the better value would be?

I have a 21 month old and I love this. It's more interactive than a regular book and is something she can play by herself without making a mess. Books are always great, but I love the independence this grants her (and me)

Hi! The cards are smaller and can be used like flash cards or can be made into a flip-style book as they have a small hole in the top right corner for a metal ring. They work the same as the water wow books, and I like that there are more than 4 pages!

Q: Are these 26 individual cards or like 3 letter/pictures per page?

They are 26 individual cards. Each shows the capital and lowercase letter. You "color" the picture underneath with water. My 3 year old loves them.
