Buy this only to use for light artificial lure and use a fairly stiff braid
At first I wanted to throw this rod in the ocean. I kept getting line wrapped around the tip everytime I cast into the wind because it was so soft and had so much action. As a last resort I switched out to a stiffer braided line and wow did things change! Now this is my go to speckled trout rod for throwing mirrolures in the fall (mostly mr17’s) This rod is perfect for that application. You can fill the tiny “tick” when the fish strikes the lure. Again for this application it is flawless. I would discourage anyone from buying this rod if they are not buying for technique specific purposes. Also use a stiffer braid with this rod.

Great rod!
The action has a somewhat unusual feel to it, but it's like a tennis racket firing off small soft plastics. Plenty of backbone to quickly tucker out even in the largest reds on the flats.

Phenomenal piece of inshore equipment
G Loomis has been manufacturing high quality fishing rods for quite some time. They introduced the Greenwater line a few years back. More recently, the Pro Green series became available for inshore saltwater anglers. One of the difficult things about inshore saltwater fishing is finding a rod that can cast lite baits and lures significant distances. You also want a rod that's responsive; that allows you to feel the hardly perceptible bite of certain game fish. Last but not least, you want a rod with the backbone to bring in hard fighting, heavy, aggressive saltwater game fish. The Pro Green series of rods accomplishes all of the above beautifully. They're incredibly light weight rods as well. I was skeptical about just how much of a difference in performance as rod in this price range could be. Any and all doubts I had have been resolved in favor of these rods. There is a huge difference in the quality, craftsmanship, and capabilities.
