Q: Will these hold up to barbells dropping on them (set down heavy, not dropped from above) if placed on a cement floor? ie. powerlifting

I like them but they need more rubber on top. If they were one inch thick 1/2 foam and 1/2 inch rubber then yes that would work perfect. The rubber is just to thin for going heavy and dropping barbells or dumbbells over 30 pound's.

Q: Do the tile joints hold together for hiit exercises like burpees?

They will hold up just fine for that. It’s actually a really snug fit and you can’t really see the joints after a while
