Useful but very lightly built
This is useful not only for remotely triggering a camera, but also for triggering a camera without jarring it or making it vibrate. That’s important in doing astrophotography and time exposures, and that’s why I purchased it for my GH2.It’s a very simple device- just a locking push button in a plastic case with a length of cable and a mini-plug. You could no doubt make a better unit yourself that would be more rugged and reliable, but this struck me as a reasonable value. It does feel a bit flimsy, but with care it should last a while. Fingers crossed.

Did not work
I ordered this because it specifically said it was compatible with a Panasonic DMC- FZ300, which is the camera I have. It did not work with my camera at all and I returned it. I was so disappointed!

I am happy with how it feels and functions!
After my first initial use I've concluded that the product works very well. I was able to take pictures as well as start and stop video recording on my Panasonic GH4. The only draw back for me is that you have to stand close to the camera because the cord is not very long. Would be nice if they can make these with different cord lengths. (Although I don't know if they do or don't already) But other than that I am happy with how it feels and functions! Would've gotten five stars if the item came with a longer cord. Although, a cordless option is always usually best for photographers and cinematographers.

A good product at a fair price.
I have started doing videos for both my Facebook and YouTube channels. This release comes in very handy for the single camera situations I shoot in occasionally where I don't have to lean to the camera, start the video and then have to later edit out the reaching process. The cable that the controller is wired to is just long enough that I can use it. It is a little touch at times for me to do a quick auto-focus before the start of filming but I don't fault the remote release for that. I am glad to be able to be a bit away from the camera and not have to edit out a long arm reach to start the video recording. Fair price for a good product.

Worked well for two weeks and performed great and then just stopped working,.
Out of the box it worked great and then within two weeks, for whatever reason it stopped. I decided on another brand to replace this one, but the feel, the look and the ease of use was great while it worked. I believe I may have gotten one of those products that just happens to not be like the others (based on the reviews here). I just didn't want to take another chance when I am out trying to capture still images. It just sucks when you dedicate an entire day to getting the right pics and something like this happens.

Cheap, but works
It works. That's the main thing. I knock off one star because the button feels like you could press it all the way into the handle and break it. It is, of course, a shutter release style button, so you get that double click action, BUT, again, you have to make sure you don't press hard otherwise the button will keep going and it feels cheap. BUT, again, it works, and it's cheap.

> DOES THE JOB
DESCRIPTION> Control unit about 7/8" x 5/8' x 4"> Cable about 38" long> Connector 2.5mm sub-mini ("stereo")Works perfectly with my Panasonic Lumix DX7; albeit its a small hassle to pry open the access panel of the DX7 to insert the plug.Comes with a nice little gray velvet-like like pouch (3 3/4" x 2 1/4"), which (typically of PhotoTech products) is too small to hold the product (in this case, the remote control switch)---but you might find some other use for it.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

Excellent savings
Remotes are typically expensive, upwards of around $50 or more. At a fraction of that cost, this one works just fine for snapping the shutter when the camera is zoomed and everything needs to remain perfectly steady to get a good picture. It also has a nice long cord so you don't need to be right next to the camera. I'll be getting a lot of use with it.

Great
This is a great product. I'm using it with my Panasonic GH4. If your looking for a remote, I recommend this. Its cheap and does the job perfectly, you don't need a fancy wireless remote. This allows you take a single image, or lock the button down so the camera takes either multiple images, or a single longer exposed photo, basically u can keep the lens open by either holding the button down or locking it down.Great little cheap product that does what it should. I gave it 4 stars because giving it 5 would make it a perfect product, which it isn't. Reason for this is that any product can be improved on, even the best product.

Does what it says
It is a remote shutter release and it does what it says however there are many cheaper ones which do that just as well. I thought paying more would offer me something different to ones I have had in the past but it doesn't in this case.

Nice release--but.
Nicely built and should work well if it fits your camera. Bought for a GF6, as the literature and the reps at Bird Fair all said it can accept a remote release .I doesn't. I should have downloaded the full manual before buying the camera. A little work with a screwdriver and a soldering iron now scheduled.

easy to use and considerably less ££ than the £50 ...
Well made, easy to use and considerably less ££ than the £50 or so Panasonic version! Time will tell just how robust this is, but seems well made and not at all flimsy. Am happy to recommend!
