Works Great For Dualshock 4
I purchased these cables to bridge between my PS4's Dualshock 4 to my headset I have. The headset itself wouldn't work properly without the cable plugged in first. A quick, and simple solution!

It's nice to have the angle connector
I'm on my second of these. It's nice to have the angle connector. It was nice to be able to tuck it into small pocket of a fanny pack But there was a bit of pressure on that angle. And after a few months it started failing, clearly a break in the angled connector housing, based on the way it needed to be wiggled to come back on. Since I was unable to find any earphones with built-in mic that work with my phone I eventually broke down and ordered another adapter. As the added pressure on the connector was, arguably, beyond the intended use of the adapter, I can't take too much away. But I don't think the added stress was anything extreme and the adapter should have handled it. So I have to take away one star.

Excellent Adapter. Converts OMTP wiring to CTIA (for CTIA headsets)
Great little adapter from Sony Ericsson. Essential for people who want to use wired headsets made by various manufacturers with their Sony Ericsson or Sony Mobile phones.I don't really like that there has to be 2 different standards of how these jacks are wired. I think that's silly, and I know it's because either Sony or Apple (or maybe both of them) just want to make it different so they can make only CERTAIN accessories compatible. Therefore we all must go out and buy only the ones that are that same format.Anyways, that's the way it is. For now this is a good solution to use all those other nice wired headsets out there with our Sony Ericsson/Mobile phones. The adapter was a fair price. I got mine for about $5 with free shipping included. It took about 1 week to arrive to me from "NewandOEM". It came in a little bubble envelope, and then the adapter itself was just in a little plastic bag. Nothin fancy. The quality of the adapter is great though, and I hope they continue to make them with this quality. The cable feels durable, even though it's only about average thickness. I like that the male 3.5mm side that goes into your phone is a 90° connector. It's definitely safer that way on the female receptacle in our phones (esp. if you keep your phone in your pocket a lot). I really like that the adapter had Gold-Plated male and female connectors!Very good quality adapter for a good price. And yes, the sound quality going into my now useable Philips SHE-9005A Headset is great.FYI: I'm using this adapter for connecting a Philips SHE-9005A Headsethttp://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHE9005A-28-Headset-Android/dp/B006WHPQCM/to my Sony Live Walkman phone. It's working great so far!

Bought for PS4
Works, but it omits a high frequency chirp that my friends couldn't tolerate. I used this in conjunction with my iPhone 5s headset... ended up using the PS4 headset that came with the system. Don't buy if you're looking to use with PS4.

needs a work around
Says it's for the R800 but it doesn't work in the Xperia Play 4G (R800AT). Says it's supposed to convert iPhone headsets, but it doesn't convert any of mine. The adapter doesn't get the "unsupported accessory" error the headphones get by themselves, but the music still plays through the phone instead of the headphones. It just doesn't work, its a waste of money.Edit: I'm leaving my original review because it's true, but there IS a work around. There is a widget called toggleheadset 2 (yes, toggleheadset is one word). You can force audio out of the headphone jack whether the accessory is supported or not. My original problem was remedied by this, and let me assure you that with the converter the audio sounds AMAZING! These headphones sound better with my Xperia Play than they did with my iPhone! The inline controls don't work, but that's a small price to pay. I'm not really using these for music, my Play is mostly for games and emulators at this point in its life, but I do have music there and the audio quality was stellar. Trying the widget workaround without the adapter, the music sounded... groggy, for lack of a better word. It was the audio equivalent of trying to watch the scrambled Spice Channel as a teenager, but that isn't an issue at all with the adapter.I fully recommend this adapter with the toggleheadset 2 widget, but I can't give it 5 stars if it doesn't truly work on its own.

DO NOT GET AS A OMTP<->CTIA converter!
First of all, if this is bought with the intended use, I'm sure it would be a 5 star product. I'm not giving it 1 due to my own negligence.I should have not doubted the description. This ONLY functions with the Sony Ericsson that is in the title.DO NOT GET AS A OMTP<->CTIA converter!I wanted to use my Apple Beats 3.5mm headphones with my Galaxy Note 8. Volume buttons didn't work on them.Didn't work at all, and the sound was incredibly muffled. Useless product to me but not worth it to return. Learn from my mistake. As some of you know, Apple headphones use the CTIA 3.5mm standard. Where the two bottom connection rings are swapped, Mic and Ground. My Samsung (and I'm sure other android phones) use the OMTP standard with the two bottom connections reversed.I thought that by getting this converting adapter, all would be right. Unfortunately for us consumers, Apple loves to make it harder for us to do anything out of their control. Apple/Beats headphones not only swap the two connections, but the resistance used to notify the phone to play/pause/volume up/volume down/mic, is PROPRIETARY and therefore a converter of any kind, WILL NEVER WORK. This is why the audio coming out was so muffled.I have to return these Beats earphones that I really like now.
