Those reading these reviews for this product may wonder how there have been such disparate experiences, and the answer is that like many of these sort of products without retail market branding, there is no guarantee you'll get the same product from one seller to the next. Possibly even from one production run to the next. I'd like to think that each seller has uniformity in product, but haven't tested that theory yet.The first time I ordered one of these I received a sturdy, heavyweight plastic device with a tight-fitting, leak-proof lid, as pictured in the photo on the page, and it came in an equally sturdy cardboard retail box. It was such a great buy that in the intervening months I completely forgot that I had ordered it from Amazon directly, not from a marketplace seller. This was before the new Add-On Item thing, so I didn't have a reason to not order from Amazon at the time.But, of course, when I ordered another recently at a lower price I didn't pay attention to the seller and got a flimsy plastic bit of nonsense that arrived, a bit wrinkled and creased from having been partly crushed as well as two days after the delivery estimate, in a padded envelope without even a plastic bag between it and the doubtless many hands and other things with which it may have had contact. Not that sterile, antiseptic packaging is a big deal for such an item, but even washing this second one in hot water would likely weaken or deform it. It really is as sturdy as a store-brand plastic milk jug. Or more like a store-brand water jug. The kind that doesn't even rate a screw-cap. Mea Culpa on that, though. I neglected my due diligence as a consumer.So with one five-star and one one-star experience from the "same" item, I'm giving this three stars. Feel free to order this, but know not every seller will have the same item and be aware that if you think you're getting a very good deal you're probably getting a very bad one.

I am at the age now where some nights I have to get up for bathroom trips more often than in my younger years. To minimize disturbing my wife I bought this urinal and have not regretted it. I might add, neither has my wife.The urinal is made from sturdy, thick plastic and has minimum give when you hold it. No worries about squeezing too tight when the cap is off.It has a flat base that gives it stability. Some reviewers have complained about the difficulty of snapping the cap on the top. True, you have to position the cap so that you can push straight down, but for me that is a big plus. I want the cap to fit snug and tight. Better that than have the cap pop off if you drop or knock it over in the dark.There are also markings on two sides in cubic centimeters and ounces for those who need to keep track of volume. Unfortunately, they are embossed into the sides without contrast, making them hard to read and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.For those who need it I would recommend this product.

I experienced all the same complaints about this product as many other reviewers. The cap is too easy to become detached from the handle, and it is not easy to accomplish a strong seal with the cap on the opening. It can be done, and it is water tight when you do it, but woe is thee if you think its tight and it isn't, and it falls over.One problem I sense with these is that once gunk precipitates out of urine and begins to coat the walls, the containers become very hard to clean. I have tried Clorox, and Hydrogen Peroxide. The latter seems to work, as long as its fairly concentrated, but it takes time. Look for a good stiff brush with a wide swath and at least 3 inches of bristles, for a good hot soapy water scrubbing.Given how inexpensive they are, (literally free, if you order them with another big order), I'm inclined to discard them after a few weeks, or if cleaning becomes too much of a chore.

A lot of reviews complain about getting some flimsy thing that leaks. That has not been my experience with this item. What I received matches the product photo. It's made of a sturdy thickness of high-density polyethylene as I was expecting. I'm not sure which plastic the cover is made of but it fits quite securely. However, I can see how someone with limited manual dexterity might have a problem getting the lid to seal all the way around. I can also see that it's possible that over time the on/off flexing of the lid might lead to cracks down the road. Just how far down the road remains to be seen. But given that this is an inexpensive item, if I get only a few months use out of it, I wouldn't complain. And finally, something that never occurred to me to look for before my purchase is that in this model the handle is closed off from the rest of the urinal and thus won't contain urine, making the washing out that much easier.

100% better than my last urinal that started to leak when I used the flimsy handle to shake it, to rinse it and it opened up the seam and started to leak. This one is made of much heavier duty plastic and feels very solid and the handle is molded to the bottle and the cap is very tight and these one should last for a very long time. I have a tip for you to keep it from smelling, that I found on YouTube. After I rinse it I squirts about three or four squirts of dish watching liquit and little white vinegar (about) a tea spoonful and shake it a little and you're done. I filled an empty 16 oz bottle of alcohol from a gallon bottle of Vinegar so it will be much easier to pour and it won't smell, If you smell the bottle after you urinate, all you smell is Vinegar. Hope this will help you out.
