Got a 2nd one!
I bought my first one of these shelves a few years ago & wanted to buy a second one as soon as I could afford it, but they kept going out of stock or the price would go up exorbitantly -- or I didn't have the $ when it was available for a good price. Finally, I found it again -- when I had money -- for under $200. Seriously, if you find this for less than $200, BUY IT. That's as good as it's going to get, pricewise, and this shelf in the Char Pine finish can be wicked hard to find.I love this big bookshelf SO MUCH. The finish, Char Pine, is so nice. The shelf has nice features such as feet, a lip on the shelves, so they look really thick -- and the top & sides of the front are made to look thicker too. I love a bookshelf like this that looks more substantial. The directions are good & have some funny little notes to be cute. There is some weirdness (at step 5, I think) where the picture doesn't really go with what you're looking at, but just slow down & reason it out. For me, it was easier to complete that step looking at the back side of that side instead of the inside part of that side. The paragraph will only make sense if you're looking at the directions, sorry. I left this part for anyone referring back.I'm a tiny lady in my early 60s & I got most of this done by myself. However, I couldn't get the bottom & the fixed shelf in without a helper to squeeze the sides together while I tightened the cam screws. So, I do recommend a helper -- plus it will save you so much time.Like most things with a cardboard back, the cardboard piece they give you for the back seems to leave some gaps as if it's not cut straight or something -- so be very careful when you get to that part. You may find, like I did, that lining it up on one part, leaves a gap in another part -- if you try to leave no gaps, you won't be able to put a nail into the wood in a at least a couple of sections. Be prepared with maybe some black duct tape (I used clear packing tape, but it doesn't stick to this surface very well). That said, I gave this bookshelf 5 stars because I really do love it, If I had the space, I'd buy a couple more of them. They look gorgeous & hold a lot of books.

Very impressed.
Finding a shelf this nice at this price point is very difficult. And it seems these days book shelves are more for decoration than they are for holding books. This is not one of those. It was super easy to assemble, is very sturdy, and is absolutely beautiful. I will mention that a few of the pieces arrived damaged which was quite disappointing. But after a quick trip to Sauder’s website, they’re shipping and replacing those parts for free which is why my five star rating still stands.

Love!
I bought two of these bookshelves and a matching cabinet to put in my library space and they are incredibly attractive. They feel substantial and were not difficult to put together.

Great Bookshelf!
Arrived quickly but unfortunately was damaged on the way and the box was open causing our UPS driver to drop all the pieces on the sidewalk while taking it out of his truck which caused some chips in the wood 😓 But once my husband assembled it, I didn’t really GAF cause the chips were so minor. 🤷🏽♀️But all in all I am IN LOVEEEE!!! such a beauty. 🖤

Sturdy, Cost Effective and
I love this shelf. It looks 'rustic' but is made of MDF (particleboard), with a type of printed coating. This does make it heavy, but is also why I could afford it, and will likely get dinged up less. The process of putting it together took me about 1 - 1 1/2 hours by myself with a toddler afoot. As long as you give yourself enough space and organize your parts, it should go smoothly, and would likely go more quickly with a second person to hold the parts tight while you tighten the tensioners. I like that you can space the shelves however you like (with the exception of the center shelf (for support)). The overhang around the outside gives added support and overall it feels sturdy. The wall mount is also easy to connect. Getting a 6' strong, shelving unit for just over $100 is a steal compared to other options I found. I highly recommend this bookshelf.

Meh.
Overall, it was easy to put together and seems sturdy. I took off two stars, because when putting it together the backpiece was extremely thin and delicate. No matter how careful we were. It just kept ripping.

HEAVY, and some assebly required.
It's a bookshelf that certainly takes some time to put together, and that's okay, but don't expect this to be as simple as your typical IKEA setup. Still, it's not the most complicated thing to put together if you can follow instructions. However, one comment I must make about this product is just how HEAVY it is. I've already thrown away the box, but I feel like the package stated the weight was ~97 pounds (definitely in the 90-100 lb range). Moving it from my doorstep to my living room and subsequent room wasn't "terrible", but having someone else around to help with the lifting is certainly advisable. This isn't too big a deal when assembling the bookshelf, but it can become a bit hairy when it comes time to stand it up wherever you're placing it, and I also highly recommend using the wall attachment it comes with as this thing falling over with nothing else on it is definitely going to injure somebody. The weight does mean it feels very sturdy, and will last some time, though don't be mislead into thinking this bookshelf is solid wood. Some parts of it are solid wood (the sides that hold the shelves), but the majority of it is compressed woodchips that is supposed to be recycled wood. I like the idea of the recycled wood, but I also greatly love solid wood products, though I didn't want to spend the money for one, so here we are. That's to say, I'm not complaining about the compressed woodchip material of the bookshelf, just letting you know it's something to be aware of.Otherwise, it's a bookshelf that functions great for what I wanted of a bookshelf, and that's to be a place to hold books and other objects I have lying around my place.I hope this helps you out in your purchasing decision.
