Hanon - The Virtuoso Pianist in 60 Exercises - Complete: Piano Technique (Revised Edition)

As I've always purchased the Schirmer edition, this Hanon purchase was a bit of a gamble. I teach both Beginning and Advanced Piano at a college and have always used Hanon as an important part of a pianist's education and lifelong companion...a pianist's "Bible" of sorts. This edition, though, did not at all disappoint. I was happy to see virtually no difference from what I've always been used to both initially as a student and then as a teacher. It was nice to find it at a less expensive price point here, and also that it's well bound and will definitely last a student for a very long time. I highly recommend this!

I bought this book to add to my technique training. I wanted an alternative to scales and chords and use these exercises as a warm up before playing and technical training.

If you haven't played for a while or want to improve your dexterity buy this. My sloppy fingering has improved enourmously. Takes 15 minutes to play first 20 exercises at recommended tempo and I play these every day. It can be a bit repetetive but the payoff is worth it.
