If you're looking for a worthy extension to the t.v. show, this series is the book for you! Every story feels like another episode, from the sound effects popping off the page right down to the artists never forgetting Caesar Romero's moustache. You can almost hear Adam West's voice while you're reading it! Highly recommended!

Once again a great selection of stories in the style of the classic old show.Batman's home is threatened twice, 1st when Marsha Queen of Diamonds detects the biggest diamond ever and it leads her to the batcave and then when the Shakespeare Bust as used to enter the Batcave, is stolen from stately Wayne Manor.Batman gets an unusual ally when he & Robin enlist the Penguin's help, they wear earlier versions of their costumes (based by the look of it on a cross between the rough costumes for the show's screen tests crossed with a golden age style.) and drive a makeshift batmobile (again a golden age look).There seem to be less likenesses of the original actors in this collection and in one case a complete departure. The Black Widow is a much younger slinkier lady, not at all like the veteran actor Tallulah Bankhead. With her story they sucessfully use an great deal of arachnid imagery and sacrilege though it may be to say it, a better use of the character than in the series.There are of course nods to other incarnations of Batman, most obviously an origin for the much later animated series and comic book character Harley Quinn.Unfortunately the Two face story published as a one shot is not included, perhaps that's not seen as part of the proper run.If you've enjoyed the previous volumes then you will want this too.The next volume's out just before Christmas and I know I'll be there, same bat time, same bat channel!
