K-245, 6 Hole Punch Set by C.S. Osborne

Awesome punches...I get myself into these seemingly homeresque journeys doing the simplest tasks. We put in an underground dog fence because of a bad neighbor, but the dogs have always worn garmin gps/training collars as well. When the fence got put in they started looking like canine punk rockers with their three collars. Once they quit testing the fence I thought I would move the fence sensor to their leather ID collar. Well the collar is very thick and the hole I needed larger than my cheepy wheel punch would accommodate. So on to find punches, I picked up a cheap Chinese piece of junk locally that nearly ruined the collar but definitely was not sharp enough to go all the way through, so on to the web to find American made punches. Because of my experience with the cheap punch I didn’t know if I would have to work up to the desired whole size. So I bought this set and what a difference having the right tool makes. I won’t bore you with knife and butter analogies, but it made quick work of these collars. Very well made and perfectly machined - in all likelihood this is a much better set than I needed, but I am ready for future challenges. The best part is my dogs only wear two collars again...a much more manageable number.

In my experience C.S. Osborne tools have been hit or miss. These punches are a hit. I've been using them for a while now and they have been great. Clean holes every time and they stay sharp.

The product I received was not in a red sleeve as depicted, but a black one (not important), and also did not have the bluing removed at the business end of the punch (as depicted). Also, the bluing on the largest punch (the 3'8'') was shabby, and rust was already visible Two of the punches were chipped slightly, the 3/8'' was the worst off, but I could see it buffing out with a repeated filling. I just wished the finishing/quality control was a little better, especially since I went out of my way not to purchase the cheaper General Tool punch set in favor for this 'Made in USA' set.I have no doubt it is still a fine product, and fine steel, but Osborne aught to do better quality control and finishing.

what a difference compared to the knock offs out there. these punches work great for my leather projects. they arrive sharp and are pretty well made.

I wanted the old stile package that was shown. It came in a different package to hold the punches.

I needed to punch more holes in very heavy duty leather to me to shorten the stirrups on my saddle.These made it through the very heavy duty leather and left a clean hole. It is a very nice set.

Wished it came with couple larger punches.
