Fake Eggs! Using them in my real life chicken coops.
We bought these fake eggs because I have a coop that is huge, and I can't reach into it to get the eggs out. I've been using a rake to move them then pick them up. I want my hens to lay in their nest boxes it is cleaner that way. I bought these eggs and put one or two in various nest boxes. Plus I bought nest box herbs. I did my nest boxes so birds can choose to lay on pine straw over rubber laying matts I bought or on green grassy matts over the rubber type matts. Everything is washable. We in less than 2 weeks finally have our hens laying in the nest boxes. 31 eggs in two days. It was awesome to finally stop having even one or two in the run, and some were even laying in the feeder, or in the floor of the coop where they roost. All of them are in the box. The eggs look real enough we have to pay attention that we do not pick them up when we collect our eggs. I am very pleased. Note these eggs are in the shade out of the sun and they look realistic enough that we are going to put a black dot on them, so we don't confuse them with our real eggs! Love the product and highly recommend. I am sure they also make great fake eggs for children to play with. If you have a fake egg need this should probably fill it easily!

Great for training hens and ducks to lay in nest.
My next door neighbors have more than fifty free range chickens and muscovy ducks that don't get cooped up or fed regularly. They breed and sell the birds. They have an open old shed like structure next to my driveway where I think some hens lay eggs for the neighbors. The neighbors have a German shepherd dog that eats the birds. So I understand why the birds mostly live in my yard. At first the birds were a nuisance pooping on my door mat, all over my covered portch, arm rails, furniture, the walk, my vehicles, etc... They flew into my bird feeders untill they knock them down to get the bird seed. Ate all the cat's food and terrorized my cats, the squirrels, and the song birds. Ate all my herbs and flowers. They dug up the lawn looking for bugs. Broke the garden fountain trying to swim. Knock over the bird bath trying to swim in it. I talked to my neighbors, they told me I could keep the eggs I found on my property. But didn't seem to understand the birds needed more care. Since the ducks were getting sores on their feet from lack of water, I got them a kitty pool. Now they have two plastic kiddy pools. I have to feed the chickens 40lbs of feed+ extra nutrients+ snacks every week to keep my bird feeders hanging up. I gave them under the 10'x10' covered porch as the bird dirt bath. Added calcium to their diet to correct the broken and chipped beaks. Clean and medicate their wounds, they come to me when they get injured. I've taken them out of the other neighbor's dogs mouths. There are red tail hawks who try their best to carry off the birds that are too big. I take the ducks back and tell them to eat the chickens they can carry off. I can't stop the hawks and wild predators, but I can limit it. The feral cats, racoons, and possums eat cat food at night and not as many chickens. Got a porch light I can leave on for the birds sleeping on my property at night. Dog houses with straw for the cold nights and rainy winter days. Now the birds eat out of my hand and come running when I open the door or pull in the driveway after work. The price of eggs got me thinking, I could bate the nest and get the eggs. They lay eggs in the woods and around the property that the racoons and possums eat. But I could be eating thoes eggs too. Week one and I'm getting 2-3 eggs day! All I did was add a dozen of the wooden eggs among the straw nest. Wood is best because wild critters usually won't carry off the wooden eggs like the other types of fake eggs. I put three eggs in each nest as bate. Ducks and chickens like to lay in nest with eggs already. I wouldn't add too many, hens get broody and won't leave a nest when she gets to around 6-10. Even though these wooden eggs are xl size, bright white, and noticably bigger than the chicken eggs. They do work well for baiting nest to train hens where to lay eggs. The wooden eggs are more of an XL chicken or regular duck egg size.

Nice variety for the price!
Some of my chickens were becoming egg eaters and I bought these along with another pack of all browns from the seller to try and frustrate my girls out of eating the reason we keep them (believe, I've tried EVERY trick on the internet already!) These are perfect, the colors match our variety of eggs perfectly and so far they've held up great. I just made little smiley faces on one end of each so I could quickly tell them apart from the real deal, they are too realistic otherwise. ;) We've had way less egg loss so far and I'm hoping it'll completely break their habit soon so I don't have to cull the perpetrators, they are sweet girls and I really don't want to. The only downside is that they are so realistic, one of my good producers has given up egg laying to get all broody and try and hatch these things. She even steals them from the other nesting boxes sometimes and brings them to "hers." I'll worry about that after the egg eating is solved, she can have her fun for now. Thanks for the great product!

Fooled me!
I've had these in my nest boxes for a few weeks waiting for my girls to start laying. They are way better than the prior fakes I had purchased! The white eggs are a little shiny, but I don't have any white layers anyhow and didn't add those. The brown and green have a slight sheen, but nothing glaring or even obvious once in a box. I don't think the white eggs would be a concern at all.FINALLY, my #1 girl laid her first egg IN THE BOX, first time! And guess what? She lays the EXACT same minty blue of the faux eggs. Fast forward a few days, I have several that lay the minty blue and those darn things continue to fool me and my kiddos. Not that we've grabbed them out, but we have to do a double-take when collecting! My brown layers haven't started yet (any day now), but I expect the browns will throw us too! I was going to mark them, but they're just too cute! I suppose I'll have to once their eggs reach full size. Unless you clank them, they feel as real as they look. And I'm in Texas, lots of triple digits and suffocating humidity- I've had no issue with the eggs peeling, chipping, etc. So far, so good. They'll definitely serve their purpose.

Fun Easter alternative!
For some reason I thought dying these eggs traditionally would work the same, but didn’t take into consideration the wood absorbing the dye and the color being very light - oops!Ordered for my 4year old who is messy! We had her color the eggs with markers and glue google eyes on and she loved it!
