Will fulfill most of the obsession with Black Ink.
The media could not be loaded. Hello Amazonians,This is NOT the darkest (Document Proofing) black like the "Noodler's HoD: Heart of Darkness" but yes for most of us, will fulfill alot of desires of an almost perfectly black ink that has great lubrication and suitable for Fine to ExtraFine nibbed fountain pens. Here is my review of the Aurora Black Wet Ink below:Fountain Pen: Hongdian BlackForest, Matte Black (Asvine) bought for Rs.2800 from Amazon.inNib in the Pen: E.F(ExtraFine) nib,Pen type: Dry fountain pen (more on that written below in the review),Ink used: Aurora Black (45 ml),Ink type: Medium Wet ink (more on that written below in the review),Paper used: 80GSM off white (ruled)So before I begin, let me point out some subtle differences about fountain pens that most of you might be unaware of.Fountain Pens need their own type of Paper and Ink to perform to their optimum level, hence all the below parameters are to be "in-sync".1.) Fountain pens, (although) use ink for them to work but the game is played with what type of ink one chooses to play (write) with.In a broader sense, most European Fountain pens are Wet Pens i.e. to put into a layman's term, the pens gush out / release alot of ink (from their "Feed" that is attached to the back side/lower side/underside of the nib) onto the paper while writing, forcing the nib to deposit alot of ink thereby making the written text thicker than what the nib's quality/thickness/fineness would mean otherwise.Hence eventually taking time to dry out completely while on paper and (in some cases depending on the paper type) would result in unnecessary bloating/feathering/shadowing/ghosting which will cause the ink to spread even on the back side of the same page of paper making the 2nd page unusable.2.) NOT all papers are suitable for Fountain Pens. To put this into perspective, mostly all papers in Longbooks, diaries, notebooks are below 80GSM ("gsm" referes to the quality of paper, higher the number, better the paper in quality). Hence European Fountain Pens like the Waterman or others like Lamy, Pelikan etc. Would write alot better with crispier and thinner fonts on good quality 80GSM (or higher) paper. Else, mostly feathering might be observed on paper and the back side of the page (of the same paper might be too dark to be termed "unusable").3.) Inks are of various types too, i.e. Wet or Dry inks. As a rule of thumb, wet pens need dry inks and dry pens need wet inks.Mostly Asian Fountain Pens like the Jinhao, Hero, Hongdian are fine nibbed and mostly suitable to the Indian palate as their definition of a Fine (F) or ExtraFine (E.F.) nib is perfectly in sync with what Indians might have a preference for. Hence, wet inks like the Waterman or those from Aurora Inks can be used with them. Dry inks have some additives added to them so that their flow (within the feed) is NOT as free flowing/smooth as with a wet ink. This helps to put less ink through the feed+nib of the pen thereby resulting in thinner yet crispier fonts.People who complain that their FINE nibs are also writing alot thicker than usual might have to rethink on the quality of inks they are using and also the quality of paper that the ink is being used on rather than defects in the pen's nib itself. Now, the review itself:PROS:1.) High quality, well lubricated wet ink that can be used with many (European based) fountain pens like the Waterman, Lamy or Pelikan pens along with Asian Fountain Pens like the Jinhao, Hongdian, Hero etc.2.) Has rich, black colour that is no nonsense, non shimmer, darker black ink on good quality 80gsm or higher paper,3.) Have used the ExtraFine Fountain Pen (the Hongdian Black Forest) and this ink provides good lubrication to the nib thereby reducing friction (feedback) while writing and provides satisfying written texts on paper (sample text added in the photo).CONS:1.) Make sure that the pen has a good quality "shut down" cap as a loosely fitted cap will help to dry out this ink faster that usual,2.) Yes, it's pricey (mostly from an Indian purchase point of view) when 95% of the population is using Camlin inks or even Waterman inks But this is worth the money (atleast for people looking to buy a good (medium wet) yet well lubricated ink that has crisp black texture on paper).Kindly mark the review as HELPFUL if it helped you make that buying decision easier,Cheers and e-peace

Ottimo inchiostro, bello fluido...

Great ink
Neat and smooth ink. It is certainly an upgrade from other commercial brands. I use it with a Diamond TWSBI and I can feel the difference.

Only black ink
Very black ink and it dryes quite quickly. Opening the cap might get your hands bit inky but I don’t mind. Highly recommend
