The Next Level: A Parable of Finding Your Place in Life

Interesting and fun
I thought it a very interesting read, applying a company business to all of our lives. It turned out to be more of a spiritual story about the way we all think and feel about ourselves, and we way we should feel, as told to us in the Bible.

I have recommended and lent out these books. Great read and reread.
This book required a little more time to understand the metaphor, at first, but once I got there, it was a powerful word picture. I couldn't stop reading it and will probably read this several times. I have recommended these books to many people in my life and I continuously lend them out. I believe this author explains, in an everyday casual manner, many salient points of real Christianity for both Christians and non Christians.

Great title with a hint in it.
This book is facinating to read. The plot is very slow to build but worth hanging in there. This is yet another perspective on the Gospel and how to share it... in particular with someone in the corperate world who is searching fro Christ in a busy world that is without Chirst.

A Deeper Look
This book threw me for a loop. I was amazed at the parallel way in which the author was able to tell a story about a work environment that completely described the different levels that church members fall into. He intrigues you into looking into the purpose of why you believe what you believe through watching the lives and reactions of those within the different levels. He is the author of other best selling books like "Dinner With A Perfect Stranger", and "A Day With A Perfect Stranger". These books are all Awesome in their ability to pull you from your distracted circumstances of everyday life and cause you to focus on the reality of the purpose of your life and taking a second look at where you stand and where you are going. David Gregory is a top author in my opinion that will draw you deeper into your relationship with Christ.

A Mystery Until The Very End
Here David Gregory turns his attention from the individual's walk with Jesus Christ to the Church. The book is a metaphor for different 'levels' of participation by its members. The author crafted his work so the reader is pretty well kept in the dark until the last few pages. Thus a caution: Stick with his thesis, you will be fully rewarded with deeper insights into the Lord's purpose for the Church.

Just imagine..
You are looking for a job...you go in to a huge 5 story complex to give your resume...the receptionist tells you to go right up to the top floor and see the Director...He tells you you are hired, pick any job you want...and the journey begins. This is a quick fun book that makes you go hmmmm....

Next level down
I absolutely loved Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. David's next book in that line, A Day with a Perfect Stranger was like a movie sequel, good but just not as good. This book, The Next Level was like the second sequel, sorry but not very good at all. I thought it was repetitive, drawn out, and not very interesting at all. I was hoping for some kind of redemption at the end, but it just fizzled out. Go back and read Dinner again - you'll get far more out of it.

Disappointing To Me, But Maybe It Works for You
I purchased this because I really enjoyed David Gregory's other books "Dinner with a Perfect Stranger" and "Day with a Perfect Stranger". Unfortunately this one never really grabbed my attention. The premise that Gregory uses is interesting, but I thought that the story got off to a slow start. In the end, the point (having a relationship with Christ) isn't made clear. If you own a Kindle I suggest that you download a chapter and read it for yourself before buying this.

Five Stars
Great book. I could see the stories and the words from the Bible come alive.

Easy read to encourage a simple life
As an avid fan of David Gregory books I knew this would not disappoint me. Reading this encourages you to look at the life you think you need to live in order to be a follower of Christ. This is based on the floors within a building run by a corporation called Universal Systems. Logan is searching for a way to fit in but by being something he wants to be and to do and not to be 'fitted' in by the perameters other people think 'is the way' to be productive to the company. Each floor gives you a view of "how we are suppose to live" for God based on other peoples perceptions. And at each level Logan is encouraged to report his findings to the CEO on the top floor based on what he finds. However he finds that everyone is doing their own thing and is reluctant to want to develop further (or go onto The Next Level) Have you ever felt like you was stuck in a rut? Have you ever questioned "is this it?" Then this book is for YOU... Go on, read, enjoy, learn. I find this whenever I read David Gregory's novels. This is another book of his I like to read again and again.

Wish more people could get to level 5
Great work. Personally, can relate with every level portrayed in this book in my Christian life and I'm more than grateful to Jesus for personally getting me to level 5. David, my guess is that you are the guy in some office in level 5 simply reading lots of stuff. I really wish more people could get to level 5. It's the best place any human on this earth can be. It's COMPLETE FREEDOM. There are millions of people caged up at other levels, putting in so much personal effort to live the Christian life. This book should be read with a spiritual view and not as a mere novel. It portrays the different levels people all over the world and especially believers are in relation to their creator, God.
