Tru almost ruined it for me…
I’m rating this higher than I initially intended, because by the end I was less annoyed. The storyline is great, but Tru made it difficult for much of the book.I loved the Queens and Monsters books, and after finishing the second book in the series there was an author comment that suggested reading these two before continuing to the third if one hadn’t already read them. So that’s what brought me to Tru and Liam’s story. What I loved in Q&M was that the heroines were both strong bada$$ women. Sloane was kidnapped in a mafia conflict, and while she fell for her captor eventually, she was a fiesty sassy spitfire who fought him like a queen. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Tru finds herself kidnapped by Liam after turning down his suggestion she become his wh0re basically for 28 days and then never see each other again. You know, because even though he’s stalked her at her workplace for almost a year, he can’t do relationships, but somehow a month of playing house will get her out of his system. While she gets righteously filled with anger over being actually kidnapped and her decision dismissed, and the fact that he actually laughs at her appropriate feelings, he continuously disarms her by kissing her and she forgets all her own feelings because “he’s so pretty!” 🙄 I loathe spineless women. I needed her to grow a spine and not be weak. Sloane was a perfect example of being strong and still falling for the gangster that stole you. I needed Tru grow a spine and to own her feelings, have some self respect and demand respect from Liam. And I needed him to earn her heart by more than using his giant D to distract her. I also found it implausible that Tru had just graduated law school. She really didn’t seem that smart. She didn’t have to be genius caliber, again like Sloane, but not completely oblivious would have been nice. She’s been in law school, lives where she does, and even with all the clues she has couldn’t even guess that he was involved in the mafia somehow? Really?I loved that the storyline matched with the Q&M series, and that we saw some characters from there. The story itself is great, and I love that there is always more going on than you think. I’m definitely looking forward to the stories that follow, both in this duet and the Q&M. Fingers crossed the women have personalities more like Nat and Sloane, and less like Tru. 🤞🏼

Beautifully Written
4 ⭐️ Steam: 3/5. Strong Language: 2/5. Triggers: Vio!ence, A$$ault, K!dnapping, Attempted Mu£der, Forced ProximityI loved this book. A Dark, brooding, and mysterious stranger comes into the diner where Tru works for eleven months. He will only sit in her section. He orders coffee and stares at her. Tru is a practical girl. She goes to law school during the day and works at the diner at night. She knows she shouldn't be so intrigued by the handsome loner but something about him pulls at her. One night, she decides to talk to him. He warns her away, telling her he's bad news. What does everyone want more of - what they've forbidden. He comes back though. He's magnetically pulled to her too. This starts a chain reaction that will bring the two together. Unfortunately for Tru, Liam is as dangerous as he claimed. He's the head of the Irish mob. He doesn't take no for an answer and he always gets what he wants. What does he want? Tru.Excellent Forced Proximity, Mafia Romance. Great storyline and characters. We get to see Declan and Kieran from the Queens & Monsters series before it was written. The writing is sharp and energetic.5 ⭐ I loved it. I’ll revisit it like an old friend. This book is moving right into my favorites category. I would recommend it to everyone, even people that don’t ask. I’ll one click this author’s work in the future.4 ⭐ A great read. I’ll probably reread again when feeling nostalgic. It was enjoyable, not portable magic. I would recommend it.3 ⭐ I liked it. It was a nice way to pass the time. I doubt I’ll reread it. I’d recommend it to someone asking for a specific genre. Thanks for the memories.2 ⭐ I completed the Herculean task of finishing this book. At times, it felt like I was Prometheus and the suffering would never end. It just wasn’t for me but I applaud the author for their effort.1 ⭐ I couldn’t finish this book or I wish I hadn't finished. How do I put this? It’s not me, it’s you.

Utterly Fantastic!
When I first started I was worried it was going to be predictable! BUT, J.T. always makes sure to throw in the most amazing curve balls. Her work is a true art! You could never go wrong with her books! I can't wait to start the next in this series and go on to the next!

Really enjoyed this book.
I laughed out loud so many times reading this book. I liked the intensity of Liam a lot. Other reviews slam Tru as weak, but I don't see her as such. Hard to fight someone else when you feel the same, eh?

Don't miss this amazing book !!!
5 plus stars. What an amazing read this was. From start to finish I was mesmerised with the plot and the strong forceful characters. This story was like stepping into a bond film; from the very first page until the very last the excitement, the tension, all the twists and turns made for a phenomenal read.Liam Black is a presence to be very aware of. Head of the Irish Mafia, by all means, he is a dangerous man to be around. Alpha male personified, possessive, gorgeous, brooding and sex on legs, woman fall at his feet and men quiver in his presence. He always gets what he wants but he might have to work a little harder when he sees Truvy. He makes no bones about wanting her, only she might have other ideas.Truvy's character was so enjoyable to read, at first she came across as a little shy and quiet but when the going got tough, Truvy got going. What a little firecracker Truvy turned out to be, but will the Irish charm of Liam be enough to win her around, or when she finds out just who and what he does for a living make her run for the hills. Truvy might not have any choice in the matter.I can only describe this book as totally addictive, I couldn't put it down. It basically had it all. Wonderful characters; Liam was to die for, I literally drooled all the way through this book. The plot was sensational and kept me on the edge of my seat, the sex was hot and erotic yet beautifully written, in fact, the whole of the book was perfection. What more can I say but this book is an absolute MUST read, well done J.T. Geissinger, a new author for me but I will be looking up more of her books to read in the future.

Absolutely Fantastic read!!!!!
🌹 ᗷEᗩᑌTIᖴᑌᒪᒪY ᑕᖇᑌEᒪ🌹“I’m not afraid of you. I’m afraid for you, for all the things I want from you that I think you just might give.”I had never heard of this book before until I was recommended it by my lovely friend @ana_manjic. She knows exactly the kind of books that I'll love and this was above and beyond. There's a man, nicknamed the Wolf who orders coffee from Buddy's Diner but makes sure he sits in Tru's section every time. He's been doing the same thing for 11 months. The Wolf aka Liam knows he should stay away from Tru. His lifestyle is an extremely dangerous one and he isn't willing to jeopardise Tru's safety. Tru has other ideas though, she's headstrong and knows exactly what she can and can't handle. She may be socially awkward but she doesn't suffer fools gladly.Liam should stay away but for the life of him, he can't. He knows there's something about Tru that he can't walk away from. But he can offer her 28 days of his time and affections only. After that, they walk away. Will they be able to part when the time comes?I instantly connected to both characters. The sexual chemistry between them was off the charts.Liam was an intoxicating, brooding, powerful and stunning man. I loved everything about him, especially his softness with Tru.This was a fantastic read, I devoured it in a day.5/black magic roses from me 🖤🌹

I loved it!!
OK I'm annoyed with myself because I'm only finding this after finding the Monsters & Queens series. It's done damage to my ocd brain to have not read these is order. Whilst I'm aware it's nit necessary, it is to me.I really enjoyed Liam and Tru as a whole. They had this firey chemistry that built a delightful tension between them and I'm a sucker for a good build up.Liam is all kinds of dark, brooding and dominating. In all the good ways. He had this saviour complex going on which I mean I got it but still I wanted to slap sense into him for a hot minute. But even he with his mighty control could not deny himself the temptation of Tru.Tru is sweet and a little awkward but she is not anybody fool. She had a very unexpected temper that surprised Liam more than once and had me cracking up. I enjoyed her character, I love that she stood for herself even when she was terrified and I enjoyed her awkward ramblings.I love them together. The tension is fire and even from day one they had this unspoken connection that felt right, like they just fit.It was an easy read despite is being Mafia and I feel like I enjoyed it more because I didn't have any expectations. Plus the storyline flowed well and there is good character development. It so freaking strange seeing declan being told what to do after reading his book. Why not 5*... because I feel like the end was a little rushed. I wanted a little more from them together and this one didn't give me that. But all in all I'm loving this author and her strong bossy hero's and quirky sassy heroines.

4.5 Stars - Introvert For The Win
I looooooved it ! I can’t believe it took me that long to pick up this book after the number of times I saw it pop up. I’ll blame it on the weather ^^Anyway, Tru was a true queen bee : I loved her personality and how she kept being so smart and funny and level-headed but still took a chance on Liam. Liam who was so mysterious and intense and just wow. Their relationship had its ups and down but all in all was low on drama and I liked it. The book really focused on them and not on everything around them that could try to break them up.A lot of interesting characters and a very good plot (plus a level of hotness I enjoyed) made for a great story. I hope to see more of Tru and Liam in Killian’s story.

Feel like this was a rewrite of Carnal Urges
This disappointed me. I just got into this author and red books 1 and 2 of Queens and Monsters then wanted to read these books on Diego and Declan. I was really not impressed with Declan's story. I felt like this was identical to Carnal Urges which I loved. Similar story, similar romance, similar nicknames, etc. Even the personalities were too similar. I am struggling with wanting to continue the series now. I also really get annoyed that these Irish guys speak like they are from Scotland more than from Ireland. Being American and living in England for over a decade makes me a bit more judgemental when reading books that authors cross over from one country culture to another. I read some reviews and found other people picked up on this. I just hope this was a one off and I don't find more of her books lacking in originality. I really had loved the first two I read.
