This is a simple but useful item for protecting the top of the car. It is made from sturdy material similar to non skid rug pads.We used it to protect the top of the car when our truck rental fell through and our daughter was moving across town. We carried a small dresser, a coffee table and an exercise bike and did not have any scratches or damage to the top of the car. We did have to trim this down a bit to fit the car top but that was easy enough to do. I would feel confident to use this roof mat for luggage on a longer trip.**Forgot to add that our neighbor borrowed this mat to help take his kayak down to the river and he said it worked for that.I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. I received this product at a discount however this is my honest review. This protective mat was true to size - the description states that this mat is 39-inches x 39-inches and the mat sent to me was indeed accurately cut to 39 x 39 (10.6 square feet). At the list price of $19.95 this is a normal cost for a piece of this protective material. It is non-slip and seems durable. I must confess, however, that I am not using this mat for its intended purpose of protecting my car roof. I am instead using this mat for protecting the inside drawers of my toolboxes. I'm using this mat as a drawer-liner. The non-slip feature holds tools in place and protects drawers from scratches. I'm happy that I purchased this mat and it's working out well for me.

this is a very good thing to have on hand if you are going to need extra space to haul things in your car. it will protect the roof from being scratched up. very thick and grips well, so things wont be sliding around. its large too. 39 x 39 inches. it gives you room to carry large items and not have to worry about the roof of your vehicles getting messed up. i used it when i took my 2 kayaks to the river, worked great! i was given a discount on this product for my honest review.
