Pricey, but you will use for the next 20 years
Excellent flashlight. Solid, works every time. It is very bright. It’s a little pricey but I have one that is 15 years old and still looks and works well.

Maglite just keeps getting better and better!!
About 2” shorter than my old 2 DCell Maglite and slightly lighter in weight. That being said, the beam spread was excellent and illuminated outward with clarity approximately 200 yds… walking our dog in the desert at night it is AWESOME!It also has a 3 click adjustment to tamp down the spread and wattage for neighborhood walking or just a more focused area spread… worth every penny!!

The wide angle to narrow angle is faster and easyer to set
The switch is not mechanical type but just a push button type. Faster and easyer to use. But, basically same operations with one more setting which is a dimer lighting. Nice shining blue color of the finish.

Expensive but extremely well made.
The only issue I had with this flashlight was that, unlike other Maglites I own, the focus didn't adjust from a wide beam to a tight spot.

Good with an issue
Compact size for a bright 2-D flashlight, good beam, interesting alternate modes (strobe, momentary on).The issue is the electronics draws current while it's off: 0.5mA (measured, sample of one, 65° F).With alkaline batteries having such a long shelf life, if your flashlight is rarely used then it will slowly drain the battery just sitting there and you could be disappointed when its needed.The manual even says to remove the batteries if you don't use it more than once a month.You can unscrew the back a turn and it will disconnect but then it loses the waterproofing and this will confuse people who don't know about it or during an emergency.Would not recommend for uses such as sitting in the glovebox of a car or clipped to the wall in a garage unless you are good about replacing batteries.
