Hoover DX C9DG-80 Condenser dryer

Symptoms: drum not rotating, just a humming noise. Research pointed to failed capacitor. Checked some YT videos re; stripping machine down to access motor. Took c.2 hours. Fitted replacement capacitor, reassembled machine (c.1.5 hours). Machine now back to full working order. Saved myself a fortune (new dryer c.£350), & learned a few things along the way. If you're a bit handy, have the right tools, then do yourself a favour, & give it a go. 👍

Quick Fix for our Candy Dryer

Instant replacement for a super-capacitor in a Candy Dryer. The Dryer switched on but failed to turn (in this situation you can spin the drum and it will start). The capacitor unit is an exact replacement for the Chinese version that failed.For those that want minimal effort with the replacement, don't waste your time unscrewing the fascia plates and the support bracket for the drum. Simply cut a whole on the bottom right side for the selected dryer and swap the capacitor over attached to the motor.Good luck everyone
