Bought this for my 2000 Toyota Camry but DO NOT BUY THIS , just like everybody else leaving one star , I couldn't get my gas cap out and my tank was on empty but luckily I was around the corner from my house . It took me 2 days (1 hour each day) to try and I still failed ..SORRY , CORRECTION , IT FAILED . So let's get it off ! I grabbed a flathead since I felt skeptical about using a drill because I didn't want any pieces going inside the car or creating a spark that can ignite .. So I pryed off the top black part of the cap first and then you see the white layer under it .. I tried twisting it but didn't budge yet due to the middle piece being locked . So I broke the middle part of the white layer by twisting using the flathead carefully (AS LONG AS YOU DONT BREAK IT BY PUSHING IT) just to be safe & you'll be solid .. After the middle small circle piece broke I placed the flathead in a slit on the white layer for grip and I turned it to take it off & viola OFF ! THREW IT AWAY IMMEDIATELY . NO MORE LOOKING LIKE A CRACKHEAD AT A GAS STATION TRYING TO REMOVE A GAS CAP FOR 25 MINUTES .IM PUTTING 5 STARS SO MORE PEOPLE CAN SEE THIS TO NOT BUY IT .

I have only gotten gas twice since purchasing this item. First time unlocking the cap was a bit frustrating. I had to keep jiggling the key to get it to turn, but I got it open. Upon locking it, the same thing applied. The second time unlocking the cap took me over five minutes jiggling the key and it took me a full two minutes to get it securely locked again jiggling the key. Today I went to get gas and couldn't get it unlocked at all. I jiggled the key and turned the cap as printed on the top of the cap. The only thing the cap did was click. No matter what I did the cap would not open. I attempted over five minutes at the pump and upon becoming really frustrated, I came home and attempted for an additional ten minutes. This is not simply a lock, but a lock cap that operates as a combination lock. Now I have to spend money at a car repair to have this thing removed. The components to not operate smoothly and don't release as they should. A waste of my money.

Very useful. So far I’ve had no break ins so it seems to be very secure. Someone was breaking into the door securing my gas cap and syphoning gasoline from my vehicle almost on a daily basis. It was getting to be pretty costly so I found this and I’m so happy I did! Thank you for the security I needed to keep the gas I paid for. I drive a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Works good I don't have a engine light problem as I saw some people were having. My guess is make sure it's suitable for the type of car you have, I have a Nissan frontier and I don't have that problem. The only thing is to take it out, instead of turning the key counter clockwise like the instructions say, turn the key clockwise and leave the key inside, then you can twist off the cap to put gas. Other than that it works like it supposed to, I just recommend they fix this as it can confuse people. But I figured it out and have no issues

Bought 2 and both keys can work on either one. Defeats the purpose of locked when anyone with the key can open any of them.

I purchased another locking gas cap exactly like this one from another vendor, I tried to lock it, but the key did not come out and the cap did not lock down at all. I returned it the same day! I took a chance and paid $2 more for this one and I am amazingly surprised! It locked as it should. The key removed without any issues. I was unable to remove it without unlocking it! It worked just as it was supposed to! Price was still great at less than #12. I would refer others to this item and to this vendor. Thank YOU.

We bought two of these. One for our 2006 tundra and the second for our 2019 tundra. After a month of use the check engine light came on in the '06 tundra even after verifying that the cap was screwed on correctly until it clicked. After removing it and returning to the stock cap the check engine light went off. So the venting on this cap is obviously not designed properly.On our '19 tundra the cap failed to unlock when we tried to get gas in a remote part of our state. Luckily someone had some tools and we had to pry the top of the cap off with a flathead screwdriver (not difficult at all) and then easily unscrewed the white part that had the threads on it. So anyone with simple tools can bypass this if they want.The locking mechanisms inside are garbage too and so flimsy that it will cause it to fail like it did on our vehicles. Save your money and frustration and just stay with your stock gas cap.

This product was less than 2 weeks old and I could not remove it after my third time unlocking it, I was not using excessive force by any means and it broke into multiple pieces, leaving a piece in the filler neck still sealing it. I was on a holiday, driving across Canada and in the middle of Ontario somewhere, Thankfully I have a gravity feed Auxiliary tank, so I’ve just been fuelling up through that since. I was only removing this cap to fill main tank quicker and take on more fuel before filling the aux tank. This review would have been very vulgar had I not had another way to fuel up, and of course by the time I get back home and it crosses my mind during some spare time, I come on here and see I missed the refund date. Guess we’ll call that a donation to this company… you guys should be ashamed for selling such a junk product, and as far as I’m concerned Amazon should be doing something about people selling garbage like this on their platform, at the end of the day it’s not a piece of crap I bought from Joe-blows online store, it’s a piece of crap I bought off Amazon. I should have read the other reviews before buying and I hope my review helps steer others away from this POS product.

TOTALLY DOES NOT WORK !KEYS DO NOT INGAGE LOCKING MECHANISM!Yu will go for gas and be stuck at gas station till yu break it off ! And in ten pieces ! Can’t really return this item covered in gas and in ten pieces !Totally a RIP OFF PRODUCT … NOT SHIPPED IN SNY MANUFACTURED PACKAGING so yu don’t know which company or person just sold yu a defective product ! Obviously they know it doesn’t work !But yu don’t … but now yu do !Had to rate a zero product a one star to warn yu not to buy this product from this person !Sham and shame sold on Amazon !

This has cap worked great key worked good to lock my fuel tank but unfortunately caused my 2017 4runner to throw emmision leak codes I had to go back to the OEM. Good product though !!
