I was able to register mine just fine. I do not know if the warranty is the same or not. Its a very good wireless router setup. Very happy with its performance.

Are these poe compatible?

They are not powerable by PoE or have PoE output.

Could we add an outdoor PoE access point to this system?

No integration?...never say never. I integrated just fine and still am using my Orbi 3 pack as the main router and added an older Nighthawk router as an outdoor wireless access point. Following the usual WAP (wireless access point) setup, which for those who don't know, is fairly easy to do and far surpasses the range & performance of any wanna-be wifi extender and without all the headache. Plug one end of an ethernet cable (long cat5 cable in my case) into one of the Orbi's LAN jacks (your main router....think of it as an output from the main router) then, plug the other end into the "internet" port of your access point router (~ the input port) and thats it. Before doing this though, and to avoid 2 separate independent networks, you need to strip the access point (AP) router of its former role as the master gatekeeper or flight-controller, if you will, of all incoming/outgoing data (routing) as well as its role as the main server of doling out non-conflicting IP addresses to each of your devices ( no longer the DHCP server) done by either placing it in 'AP-mode', or if using most any old router that's not obsolete, by disabling (uncheck the 'DHCP server' feature) its role as main DHCP server which is essntially the same as palcing it in "AP mode". Once this is done, it now answers, obeys, and listens to the new DHCP server/main router now, being the Orbi in this case. AP mode strips the AP router of its power as the master server but now behaves more as a relay station or 'mini-me' subnet for wired and wireless devices far from the master router, while still routing data back to and from the main router and providing a remote wifi signal that is at least half as strong as the main wifi router. Put it in access point mode by connecting a computer straight to the AP router using an ethernet cable and (at least for netgear) go to: advanced setup/wireless AP/then tick the enable AP mode box. This has worked seamlessly for me and I'm using the same SSID and pw as orbi network which creates less conflict and improves stability. I'm not saying that the access point by any means has MESH feature, but it certainly has integrated well without issue.
