Nice instrument at great price
For the price, this is a very nice instrument. No instructions or calibration certificate is included. A few minutes study was required to figure out how to measure in each of the 4 ranges. There are a few scratches, but nothing that would interfere with function. The square is only finished and square on the outside angle. The inner part of the square was left rough. This does not prevent full range of measurement, but if the inner part was also square, more configurations would be possible.

Very good protractor
I was hesitant based upon other reviews but some of those were older and I was hoping things were better. They were. There was only one screw slightly beat up. Everything was clean, fit well, and lightly oiled for shipping. The surfaces with writing were satin finish, clear and easy to read. The measuring surfaces were ground and had typical ground finish on them. I compared to two different machinist angle blocks I had and they were, for what I could tell, all within 15 minutes of angle. Close enough for what I was working on. These are great for a shop use and machinist use. Are they tool room precision? I do not have the ability to determine.Great value for the shop machinist and hobbyist.

Exactly what it is represented to be
I read some reviews that complained it wasn't accurate to more than 3 degrees, however I assume that they don't know how to read degree, and minute of angle and convert that in to decimal degree. (degree + (minute reading / 60 )) for instance i measured an angle of 28 degrees and 56 minutes or 28.93 degrees on an object. That is close enough for the work I do. The finish is not spectacular, but very serviceable. Since this will live in my shop, and not my inspection room this is exactly the tool i need at the price i want

Angle measuring tool - Chinese "gizfiz"
Once you play with this thing awhile you begin to see what a clever little thing it is. As the other reviews point out it's not a Starrett tool, it is in many ways a typical Chinese deal. However, the square and straight edges are true and the scale is right on the money when checked against known angles. It looks a little on the arthritic side with some of the contortions and slack that it is capable of but it has proved to be more useful than I thought when I ordered it - which was on a "lark". You can get into and measure angles in places that a digital T bevel will not fit. It's worth 26 bucks - and it surprised me in usefulness.

Very nice, for pro/amateur grade.
Not using for mills and laiths, but much hand to eye work and drafting parts. Wont be using often but when needed its perfect for the price. I would take some 6-1200 grit sand paper or a fine dimond file and clean up all edges as they catch a little worth the time. The quality is worth the price no worries. Just if you are working with machines costing thousands of dollars you'll probably want to spend hundreds for this toll. More than Ill need 90% of the time.

Acceptable for the price
For what I need (measuring the angles of existing weirdly-shaped products without clean, sharp corners) this is sufficient, but it probably isn't suitable for high-precision work. No instructions, calibration certificate is in Chinese, the slides don't feel very smooth, and the protractor itself says it's 8' off of perfectly level when closed to 0 degrees, but none of these are big issues. I'm going to guess that anyone buying as technical and specific of a product as this for $30 on Amazon probably already understands the benefits and can guess the likely limitations of buying a generic unbranded measurement instrument from China on the cheap.

Great design. Needs a little tuning and cleaning but really nice.
Much better than expected. After reading some other reviews I was cautiously optomisitic. It has a little grit and some rough edges but nothing that can't be fixed or tuned up. For the price, this is an outstanding value. Bear in mind that it may need a little work but I would expect anyone buying a tool like this would have the necessary skills to set it right. Highly recommended for those with the skills to use it. Great design. Better than some other precision protractors I have used.

Good tool if it was quality built. But it’s not.
Very poor quality. It would be a good tool if the craftsmanship was better.
