They actually block light during the day!
These are great curtains that actually block out light. I have purchased several expensive blackout curtains that have a paper like quality and do a poor job at blocking out light from rooms. These ones block out light really well, even during the day. My daughter sleeps like a baby while taking naps because the room is so dark. They are soft and lay nicely against the window. I purchased the dark gray color and they look fine, nothing fancy. I do wish they came in a variety of patterns as I find that most blackout curtains look really dull. Overall, I would recommend and plan to purchase a set for our master bedroom.

Great product at a great price!
I ordered two of these curtains in the navy blue color and I'm about to order more to put on other windows! These curtains really do a good job at blocking light, they slide easily on the curtain rod, and I love the color! The color, at least the navy blue, does seem accurate to what I received.Yes, perhaps they are not 100% blackout but compared to other brands of "blackout" curtains, these ones are better at blocking light. In the first two pictures, you can see how these curtains (the two hanging in the middle of the window) compare to another brand of "blackout" curtains (the two on either side of the window). And in the last picture you can see how a third brand (and this one with vinyl backing!) compares. The navy blue curtains by Deconovo clearly block more light. The coverage width of the two panels is about 74"The fourth picture shows how some light does penetrate through the curtains, but for my purposes it's not an issue. The fifth picture shows how one panel of these curtains fits over a ~40" wide window. As you can see you could get away with one panel on this size window, however two would be better.I have not washed them as they did not have a strong odor when I received them nor did they have any wrinkles. When I do eventually wash them, I plan to wash on cold and hang dry. I'll try to remember to update on how that turns out!

Shockingly Effective...
I thought there were two panels per package. The material looks like if you touch it with the slightest grease or lotion on your hands, it will stain. Not for draping near kids. Vinyl backed curtains are best at reducing heat, but I gave these unlined ones a try. Thick fabric, ULTRA light blocking, but I wasn’t sure how much heat black would absorb.I bought these 42” x 63”, as a temporary “cover” to tack across 3 windows in my 800 sq ft apartment. I’m used to central air, but have since downgraded to a smaller place with a simple, small, wall a/c unit. I wouldn’t even turn the machine on, because my East facing windows with just a cheap metal mini blind for a cover—made my apartment 93 degrees at 10 pm. I had to tack these curtains across each window until I could afford the total blackout curtains I want: black on window side, various colors facing inward. $60 and up plus sheers and hardware for four 59” wide windows. I want to add height, so 96” in length. The unexpected expense of new faux wood 2” blinds, light blocking sheers, and the super blackout curtains I wanted-for all 4 of my windows—was too much at once. I came up with a quick fix since I just moved in and didn’t expect such tremendous heat: ONE panel on each window, tacked, does not cover the entire window...BUT does provide enough energy efficiency to keep my apartment 45 DEGREES COOLER, with my a/c unit running on low cool. I live in Holladay, Utah, on the 2nd story, with no tree shade. I work 10 hour days in healthcare. I would come home to 93 degrees at 10 pm. SUPER IMPRESSED with this panel. It did not cover my 59” wide window, since there was just one panel per package. There were even gaps, and I still had a 45 degree difference. I then grabbed white sheets—to reflect more light OUTWARD, to cover the panel, since it looked ugly tacked sideways, with grommets, and gray patterned sheets, over that, to create pretty, makeshift window coverings for 3 of my windows. With these panels in SOLID BLACK, as the “core”, and gray for my West facing window—I’m sitting pretty!—Utility-wise...until I can properly dress my windows all at once. I imagine these could be very useful for tent camping or trailers, to reduce heat. Buying the fabric and making your own curtains is s great idea with this particular fabric.

GOOD VALUE, NICE FABRIC AND COLOR
I needed a single curtain panel for the 72" sliding door in our bedroom to block light and add to our decor. This curtain has done both! It is not a total blackness in our room, but all that we require. The light does not shine through the fabric, just around the curtain and they are quite solid. I ordered the Orange-Red color which is bit of a "burnt orange" but is perfect to go with our multi-colored bed cover. Our first order had to be returned because the bottom hem was not even. The second one that came was the same. Because I liked the curtain so much, I contacted Deconovo directly in the hope that they could confirm that my third order would be the charm and the hem would be even. Their customer service rep Adam really went the distance with me with multiple emails and literally contacting Amazon to open a package and check the quality! All for an item costing $33.79!Overall I am very pleased with the product, and though it would have been nice not to have to do the returns, it was worth the effort and I would recommend the item.
