Gets the job done!
I have a flat roof with a door for access - so naturally I decided I would sweep my own chimney. EASY! In the past I had a home with a rather flat roof - and I swept my own, but I did not know about poly brushes. I used the rigid metal ones and the chore was arduous, with the brush getting stuck - sheer misery. But, this time - older and wiser - I bought the correct brushes for a metal stove pipe - and that means poly! I just screw together two rods and screw onto brush and just plunge up and down. There is a loop in the metal that twists through the bristles. I have attached a thin nylon cord as a precaution, as I read some reviews that said the rods snapped. I doubt that will happen, as the poly bristles are sufficiently pliant to make the upward/downward motions easy to do. I am a 59 year old woman - not Hercules. But, should that happen I would be able to retrieve the brush by pulling on the cord.I am very pleased with the product - and considering what a chimney sweep charges - if your roof is accessible it makes sense to give it a go yourself.

Does a reasonable job but..
I went two different routes, bought this brush and these poles B01D8UCP6U . The brush fits the 6" stainless steel liner well but is stiff by necessity andthe poles were too flexible to get the brush more than 3 sections down; still what I was able to reach it did a decent job on.The other route was I also bought Xedragony Chimney Cleaning B07RQMF277 that you will need to look at because my description of a nylon whisk on the end of flexible poles that snap together and attach to a 3/8th cordless drill doesn't really paint a full picture but boy it cleans well and is easy to use. I wrote a detailed review on it.

Does the job
The bristles are thicker and sparser than other brushes that I've used, but it does the job.

Not suitable for my situation
The bristles, being straight, not crimped or wavy, and a full 1/8" diameter, are very stiff. This was not apparent from the description, nor from any comment I saw here. It would be hard to reverse the brush direction while in the middle of my double, smooth-walled stainless liner, even if I had trimmed the bristle length a bit to match my ~5 5/8" diameter. Instead, I chose to replace it with one from a different brand which has thinner (0.070"), crimped bristles that bend more easily.. It might work well under different circumstances, like in a full 6' diameter clay chimney liner, or a smooth mild steel 6" stove pipe, but not in mine. It cost nearly as much to send this brush back as I'd originally paid for it, but I did anyway.

Just call me sooty.
This brush works fine for cleaning my wood stove chimney. I attach a length of chain to it and pull it down the pipe twice and I'm done!

As far as the brush itself it works like it is supposed to
It is the right size but the tread pitch is incorrect. I use it by what little I can thread onto the rod. The rods are same brand so I am not sure why this will not match. I am a former car mechanic also. As far as the brush itself it works like it is supposed to.

Excellent product for newer chimneys
After discussing how to clean my chimney with a family member who's been doing it for years, I was happy to find this poly brush to clean my new chimney pipe. The bristles are soft enough to not destroy the interior of my pipe but strong enough to clear out all the creosote that builds up over the month.I've used it twice so far since buying my new home and have had no issues with it so far.
