Pee Wee Scouts: Cookies and Crutches

Reading this with my seven year old brought me back to my childhood. He enjoyed it more than I expected and it made this Mama's heart so happy

I purchased this book because it was a favorite of mine when I was younger, and I wanted to get it for my daughter's book collection. I was very disappointed when the book arrived and had the new modern book cover rather than the original design that is shown in the photo. Not a huge deal but the old cover is very nostalgic for me. I just wish they had represented the cover I would be receiving in the photo.

I remembered these from my childhood and it has been fun to read with my son. Hope to read them all.

My 9 year old daughter enjoys reading these types of books on my kindle. Good book for a good price.

Review from my 10 year old reader : This book is not believable because I don't know anyone who would kidnap a bunch of 1st graders, get them into a cult, force them to bake cookies alone to burn themselves. And if they do good, even ok - as long as the cookies aren't black or raw dough they'll get their cookie badge. If this is supposed to be realistic fiction book, I think the publishers should think twice.

This is one of my little sister's favorite childhood books - and the included cookie recipe has become a family favorite!

We read this in our homeschool as a fiction read aloud. My son who is seven enjoyed hearing the book. He liked hearing about the scouts adventures. I'm sure we will be reading more Pee Wee Scout books soon.
