Q: Has anyone had any trouble with it getting damaged from tub water? The description says it's not meant for the bath, but that's what I want it for.

We have not put it into water, I would think that if the gear inside gets wet enough for long enough it will break down. It’s a pull back than it shoots forward and pops up.that would probably stop working eventually.
