Q: I assume that the 3" designation is for the maximum thickness wood that it can handle?

The jaw has a 3" reach. The max material thickness is 2-3/4"

Q: Doesa it work with a kreg pocket hole jig?

Yes it does! That’s what I bought it for, and it worked great

Q: Does this have 6" of throat depth, or 6" of opening width?

The throat depth is 5.75" and the jaw capacity is 6".

Q: The fourth image shows two relatively large, circular faces which don't seem to match the others.Which is it?

The faces match perfectly. I am very happy with my clamps. It might be an optical illusion.
