Winco APL-12 Aluminum Sizzling Platter, 12-Inch

I have been trying out different vessels for sizzling fish fillets such as tilapia, Cod, flounder, trout Etc. This oval stainless steel platter is perfect for my needs and Easley holds tube tilapia fillets with room for one more. It is so easy to clean and food does not stick to the surface. I also bought the wood trivet that goes with it APL 12-UL that goes with it so the platter can go straight from oven on to the wood serving trivet. Yes these are made in China and the quality is a bit lower, but it is perfect for what I wanted and sizzles fish and steaks well, just like you would get in a steakhouse or seafood house.UPDATE: was told this was dishwasher safe but my platter came out a dull charcoal gray color once it was placed in the dishwasher. I use standard Cascade dishwashing soap. I wanted my platter to stay nice and shiny but it didn't after one use. Recommend hand washing only and I wish I could get a replacement.

Excellent for baking & broiling something small when you don’t need or want to dirty a sheet pan. It’s a bright polished aluminum finish when you receive it but after the dishwasher or using an SOS pad to clean it, it will end up as a dull aluminum finish. This is expected, I used many of these working in a restaurant years ago during my high school & college days. We used to call them “sizzler” pans. We have two of them now. They are very handy.

I rinsed them off and used them right away and they did great. I grill or broil a lot of vegetables and potatoes and it made it very easy for me to do without dirtying a large sheet pan. A couple of things:- I kept finding dark streaks on my hands and linens and found that it was black that came off the edge of the pans. I'm still scratching my head a little bit about what that was.- After that I decided to put them in the dishwasher to ensure they are clean...and as you can guess that was a dumb idea as they've lost their shine. Still usable for just me but wouldn't put them on a table if entertaining.I will probably buy a couple more and set them aside for entertaining use.

Picked up a couple of these because I wanted to make chicken parm, and wanted to get something like the pans I remembered using when I worked in an Italian restaraunt as a kid. These things were exactly what I was trying to find and exactly how I remembered them.
