Here are pictured two spools of serger thread. Both are unopened and are the same color, item number, bar code, and length (2,500m). The one on the right was purchased in 2019. The one on the left was purchased in December 2024. 2019 spool weighs 86 grams as shown in the pictured. Newer spool weighs 76 grams on the same scale.Anyone who says value engineering is a good thing obviously doesn't care about the diminishment in strength and durability achieved through pulling stunts like this. Those of you who are experiencing breakage, here's your answer.
