As a former LEO, I have concealed carried a J frame revolver for 44 years. This holster is sturdy but just soft and pliable enough to keep a tight grip on the gun yet it is relatively easy to draw. It's is easy to see the quality materials and craftsmanship that went into the construction of this holster. One requirement of a good holster is that it should cover the trigger completely. This holster completely covers the trigger guard. It holds the firearm securely and close to my body. The paddle locks on your belt and would be very difficult to remove unintentionally. I can carry my J frame revolver in complete confidence that it is secure and won't fall out, even in such activities as running and bike riding.

This is a high-quality holster. My air light revolver fits in it nicely. I wear it all the time never had a problem with the pistol falling out. I was a little worried because it does not have a strap. You can adjust different angles on your belt For better draw.

1791 knows how to make a holster, that's for sure. The quality and craftsmanship are top notch but unfortunately holsters aren't really a one-size-fits-all kind of thing, especially when it comes to conceal carry.I already own a holster from 1791 and it's been awesome, and was looking to find the same thing for my S&W 442 J-Frame. I wanted a non-appendix, OWB option for conceal carry and while this holster ticks all the boxes for retention, trigger protection and durability, it prints too much for me to be useful.If I were using this for open carry, it's five-star perfect.Trust me, I'm not at all happy to return it, but I think it's not so much a reflection of the holster itself, but really comes down to body type vs. holster configuration.

Perfect fit for my 38 S&W Air weight. Fit well right from package, nice well made holster.

The description is for a 1911 paddle holster 4” and 5”. It isn’t. The picture is for a Smith and Wesson J Frame. That’s what you’ll get. I took a chance and trusted the description and Model Number. Even the label on the bag the holster was shipped in said it was for a 1911. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it. It’a a great holster however.

Recently purchased two other holsters for my S&W 642 and was disappointed in their fit and quality. This holster, so far, has met all my expectations. It fits, is made of quality leather, and is well made. Although it is somewhat tight, that’s understandable, as it’s still new and not broken in. I feel confident it will work out and will be my daily carry holster.

This is a really well made holster with exquisite stitching. It is a perfect fit for an S&W M637 J frame revolver with good retention without a strap. The paddle is very comfortable and the adjustable cant allowed me to use it in the cross draw mode. Initial break-in took two passes using plastic wrap and a thin sock to stretch the holster but after about an hour the fit was perfect. The manufacturer even sent me an email to remind me of the break-in procedure.
