Fast snappy machine for cheap.
Fast and simple setup, wifi connection strong and fast. Not overloading with shovelware, has a decent variety of utilities and software, most of which looks reasonable for the typical pc user.Havent tested for gaming, and don't plan to on anything modern/4k, mostly emulation which shouldn't burden it too much. Intergrated graphics has enough power to run background apps for any upscaled emulation to 1080p, but I wouldnt try and run anything like twitch simultaneously. I plan on using it lightly, some work, some low key gaming, and for the price it makes sense. A great laptop for students, its a good size with enough umph for your educational needs, or if you're bored.Design is great, feels very solid, keyboard is great, fingerprint sensor actually works (i do construction and my hands get wrecked all the time, this a big deal for me).Sync'd with my phone super easy in under 5 minutes, porting my google account and contacts no problem!I'd highly recommend for someone that wants a great machine for an awesome price. I'm not saying it has all the power in the world, or storage, or biggest battery, but for the price you'll be greatly impressed with how the specs shine on this laptop. Also impressively thin, and hasn't really gotten above a warm temp. Solid state usually helps greatly with this, as all laptops use these now.Overall I highly recommend, and this would also be the perfect backup laptop for travel or to carry daily and not worry about something happening to it and cost you a grand. Mac users could find this as a viable pc option to meet their non-Mac needs.

Easy setup and love the features
I have been very satisfied with this purchase so far. I've only had it set up for less than a week, so I can't really state how well the battery is going to be,,,but so far it is great. I have only had one small problem with setting up the email, but I'm just going on my web browser and accessing it from there, not sure what the problem is, probably something on my "non-thechie" side of the screen. It is a great value for the money and I have absolutely no complaints. The best feature I have found so far is the back lit keyboard....I had no idea how wonderful this would be....it's great. I used to have to squint or turn on a light, but not anymore. It's really an amazing little labptop and the screen is crystal clear. The speed is very fast and so far I am loving this laptop way more than the last 2 Hewlett Packards that I have had to replace due to faulty battery setting. I love this computer.

Good entry level laptop
I bought this for my grandmother, who isn't really tech savvy. It's good specs for the price which was another reason why I bought this. This laptop is great for checking emails, doing some web browsing, playing small/light games, etc. The display is good, not the best but good enough. One of the best features of this laptop is the backlit keyboard. The keyboard is big and bright. The numeric pad keys are small which isn't too much of a big deal but it can be annoying when doing anything in excel. One of my dislikes for this device is Windows 10 S mode. Windows 10 S mode is used for only downloading apps specifically from Microsoft's app store. Nothing else outside the store can be installed. It can be turned off via the Microsoft Store. Once S mode was turned off, the device got really hot but it was just installing a bunch of apps and updates. The Ryzen 3 processor is great because it combines performance and battery efficiency. I installed Windows 11 on it and it runs so much faster. It's a great fast laptop for essential and basic tasks, but I would not recommend it for gaming.

Very reliable laptop for the price!
I purchased this Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K as an inexpensive replacement for my macbook pro that died. I was waiting for Apple to release the new M1 mbp, but needed a laptop until. I have to say that this Acer laptop served me so well, that I was in no rush to get the mbp, which was about 9x the cost. What I like: It's responsive and handles all of the apps I use without a problem, with no lag. (Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and video/movie software Movavi. It boots up fast, and the keyboard and trackpad are easy to use. The laptop is solid, yet lightweight. The negatives would be that the camera isn't that great, nor is the speaker. But I can deal with that.I'd say that overall, if you're looking for a reliable Windows laptop to do most basic functions, and even some heavier tasks like video editing, this works really well. Great for kids and teens too.

Great value
Really happy with this computer. So far we've bought two of the Acer Aspire 5 laptops: this one and a slightly earlier version. Both are regularly used by our family and they work reliably. Acer makes some quality products, and these computers are great value for the money. I would absolutely buy this again.A few notes:The memory can be upgraded, no problem, though you should have some basic mechanical aptitude and a small/precision screwdriver set (you're going to need a Phillips head screwdriver to open the screws on the bottom of the case). I think the original 4gb RAM are soldered to the board, but there is a slot for a second RAM module. You don't have to add a matching sized stick, any size is fine - e.g. you can add an 8gb module as I did. Just be sure to get Notebook/Laptop memory with the right specifications. This version has a plastic lid with a nice finish. ( My earlier version of the Aspire 5 came with an aluminum lid. Both look good, but the aluminum one can get dented if not handled carefully. )The charger for this version is also slightly different (at the connector / port) than the earlier version of the Aspire 5. This new one has a smaller connector pin. Because of this difference, the two chargers are not interchangeable.

Great little laptop.
This laptop is perfect for surfing the web. The keyboard feels sturdy and the backlight really helps in poor light. The solid state hard drive makes loading fast. Light and sleek. Well worth the money.

Great laptop with one obvious issue
A great little laptop, well built, a good size, a nice screen - so why only 3 stars - because it has an American keyboard - fine for letters and numbers but problematic with symbols - no £ symbol.

Only used it a few time's so far but fast startup love the back-lit keyboard and clear screen. Would definitely recommend 👌
