It just works! Don't buy an El Cheapo "Gibberish Brand", buy this one! You WILL NOT be disappointed!
So, you're looking at this because you have a 1-ton truck? Dual batteries? And I'm guessing in the cold your engine simply just doesn't want to start, right? Or perhaps you've got a vehicle that loses battery charge after a couple days of being unused? Or perhaps you have a habit of accidentally leaving the dome light on all night? Or perhaps your battery just isn't up to snuff anymore and you just want to make sure it starts, regardless? And now you're looking at that price of $370 (at the time of this review) and thinking to yourself "There's got to be a cheaper one that will get the job done, right?" Short answer? Possibly. Shorter answer? DON'T! <] TLDR [> It absolutely works. It delivers the power it advertises. It's worth the money. If you want a boost pack that just works and you can afford it? Then just buy this one! You will NOT be disappointed! DO NOT buy the cheaper "Gibberish Brand" packs. If you do, you WILL be disappointed and they WILL leave you stranded. Yep. it really is that simple! My ONLY regret in buying this jump pack is that I didn't buy it sooner! I just couldn't justify the price tag... If I had known just how good it is, I'd have made room in the budget for it a lot sooner than I did! <] /TLDR [> I have a 1998 GMC K3500 with a dual battery setup. I do NOT have a block heater (yet). At zero degrees (F), it turns over but REFUSES to catch. After turning the engine over for roughly 10 seconds on a fresh full charge, it just quits. No go juice! And if you've done like I have by adding a manual override for your glow plugs because you upgraded them and know they can handle the extended burn time? It's still not enough. The batteries are just too small to be viable in the winter on the Canadian border where I am. Now that you have the backstory, I too was put off by the price. I watched a LOT of videos comparing various jump packs and every single one of them rated THIS pack, the NOCO Boost X GBX155 as the highest in every single list. I really had a tough time shelling out the cash for this, but now that I have it? I'll NEVER give it up! This thing is super easy to use. Charge it up when you get it. Believe it or not, for as heavy and bulky as this jump pack is, it charges FAST. From depleted to full charge in under 3 hours! That's AMAZING! If you have a dual battery diesel truck like me? You're going to be absolutely ASTONISHED at just how much power this thing packs. Its punch is nothing short of INCREDIBLE! When you hook it up to your battery, make sure you connect it to the battery that has the positive lead straight to the starter. While it'll work, connecting it to the accessory battery WILL cause a loss of power to the starter simply because of the cable run length from the accessory battery over to the primary start battery and then to the starter. Really, the only thing I can say I'm not too fond of is where they put the button to turn on the flashlight function. That darned thing is RIGHT where I grab it to pick it up and every time I pick it up I inadvertently press the flashlight button and let me tell you, it's pretty darned bright! This thing will also let you override the error condition on a FULLY depleted battery to allow you to jump the vehicle regardless of your battery voltage. Another really nice feature is the fact that it also has two USB-A ports to charge another device with, like your phone. The USB-C charging port can also be used to charge another USB-C device, too! The charging port goes two ways! The real reason you're looking at this specific jump pack though, is to find out if it lives up to its promises. I can tell you that yes, it absolutely does! Keep this in your vehicle and you'll end up being a hero to someone if they need a jump, too. No more need to carry long, heavy jumper cables if you've got this thing! You can rest easy if you have this jump pack. If you get into a spot of trouble because you left your headlights or marker lights or dome light on and ran your battery down while you were at the theater watching a movie or something? This will absolutely get you out of a jam. My truck is nearly 30 years old. I upgraded the starter to a planetary reduction gear starter. In the summer months, the dual batteries spin the engine decently with the specific starter I upgraded to. However, this jump pack? At ZERO degrees Fahrenheit, this jump pack cranks the engine over even faster than the dual batteries in the truck do! Because of where I am and my current vehicle situation, I'm having to jump the truck virtually every time I want to go somewhere. The truck's batteries just aren't enough and there's really no easy way to install bigger, more capable batteries under the hood. But, with this jump pack? I don't have to worry about whether the truck will start or not. It's virtually guaranteed it will. Without this jump pack, I'd be stuck most of the time in winter! You could call it peace of mind and you'd be accurate! If you're on the fence between this and a cheap one that's half the price or even a quarter of the price? Do yourself a favor! Forget the cheap ones, they don't stand a chance against this one. If you've got a family and you NEED your vehicle to just WORK regardless of having left that dome light on all night? You won't be disappointed if you have the NOCO Boost X GBX155. It's worth every penny!

Powerful jump starter that works exactly when you need it
The NOCO Boost X GBX155 has been a great addition to my toolbox. It has more than enough power to jump big engines, and it starts vehicles instantly without any hassle. The unit feels solid and well-built, and the clamps are high quality compared to cheaper jump starters. I like that it also doubles as a power bank in a pinch, and the display makes it easy to see charging levels. Overall, it’s reliable, easy to use, and strong enough to handle anything from cars to trucks. Exactly what you want in an emergency jump starter.

Batteries Fail Prematurely
Update November 2, 2024 I purchased a second GBX155, thinking the first time was a fluke… It also failed in less than 13 months, just simply stops turning on… their warranty and repair is totally worthless…I copied it below in the review, costs more than buying a new unit in most cases. Save yourself some hassle and purchase another brand. I have the GBX 155 and it’s smaller brother, I bought them both at the same time in November 2021. They worked great for jumping, but they both died within a few weeks of each-other in September 2023. My old lead acid jumper is has been in service for around 5 years, and still works great. They should last longer than 22 months. Especially with light, occasional uses! Other than dying prematurely, they are nice jump packs. Here’s their awful warranty policies from their website as of 11/2/24. The cost to repair is more than the cost to purchase. In-Warranty: Months 0-12 Within the warranty period, any defective item will be replaced free of charge. Advanced replacement for In-Warranty claims is available with a credit card payment for the full retail amount. The full payment amount will be refunded within 10 business days after return is received. The defective unit must be returned to NOCO within 30 days for a credit to be issued. For claims outside of the scope of the warranty, including accidental damage or abuse, the replacement cost is $499.95. Out-Of-Warranty: Months 13-48 Months 13-24: Any defect is a flat $399.95 Repair Fee per occurrence. Months 25-36: Any defect is a flat $499.95 Repair Fee per occurrence. Months 37-48: Any defect is a flat $599.95 Repair Fee per occurrence. Out-Of-Warranty repairs exclude any claims outside of the scope of the warranty, including accidental damage or abuse. If a unit has damage deemed outside of the scope of warranty by NOCO, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs to have the unit returned. It is the sole discretion of NOCO to determine if damage is outside of the scope of the warranty. Advanced replacement options for Out-Of-Warranty depends on product availability and requires a credit card payment for the full retail amount that is currently listed on our website. The full payment amount, minus repair fee indicated above, will be refunded within 10 business days after return is received. The defective unit must be returned to NOCO within 30 days for a credit to be issued. If the defective unit is damaged or deemed outside of the scope of the warranty by NOCO, the customer must return the replacement unit within 15 business days or forfeit the full payment for the unit. To begin the warranty process, please contact [email protected]. To expedite the process, please send a digital copy of your proof of purchase, the units serial number, and detailed description of the problem.

Noco works - don’t waste time with the cheap options
Don’t bother with the cheap jump starters claiming ridiculous capacity (up to 10000 amps) for 1/3rd the price! If your battery is truly dead / defective (internali cells shorted) these won’t work - plain and simple. The cheap ones are only effective if your battery is discharged - and usually batteries are internally damage when they abruptly fail! I was able to start my 6.9l diesel with the Noco - no batteries connected at all (and I don’t recommend doing this - I did it to test the actual capacity of the Noco). None of the cheap starters will do this - meaning if your battery is dead and suffered internal damage, which is commonly the case, the cheap starters are useless as they cannot jump your vehicle with some assist from the existing battery. I tested several! If you test capacity of any jump starter with the battery disconnected (which is the true way to really verify its capacity) make sure you have a way to filter the alternator output - the alternator output without a battery or filter inline puts out dirty DC power (on an oscilloscope you can see this) and can damage your sensitive electronics (including the PCM). You can build / purchase an inline filter (rectifier circuit) to clean this up and safely bypass the battery for testing as I did.

Work very well
Very strong starter. I used it before fully charged and it easily started a 95hp tractor. Two items of concern. There are symbols that light up. One is cold and the other hot The QR code takes you to the instructions, but there is no explanation of what they mean. Also charges with usb c cord, but doesn’t provide a plug for 110v receptacle.

WISH IT CAME WITH A HARD CASE FOR THE PRICE
I’ll start off by saying it would be a 5 star review, IF these came with a better hard storage case. For the price it should be included so it can be safely stored in your trunk/vehicle easily and keep it secure. I purchased one of these that was capable of starting my 7.3L F350. I have not had to use it on my truck yet. But I have used it to jump various other vehicles, trucks and side by sides. It’s a really nice unit. Cables have decent length to work for various vehicles. Simple easy to use design. My only issue is I wish it did come with a better case instead of a the little pull string bag.

Money well spent
I use this regularly...I even used it to start a very large military 6x6 all wheel drive Dump Truck with a 24 volt starting system, I just had to disconnect the batteries and hook the noco up to the battery leads only, and it cranked that dump truck over and started it to my amazement... This particular model is wickedly powerful
