Compact and durable cloth dryer for optimum usage of balcony space
Since I had no access to the terrace, despite living on the top floor (32nd), I had been exploring solutions to dry clothes in the constrained balcony space. This is always a challenge in high-rise apartments where terraces are restricted to prevent accidents. Now, if you tie ropes and hang clothes on them, those get in the way every time you are on the balcony, and you cannot have them too high. Further, getting any ground unit wastes previous balcony space. This particular product comes at a rescue in such places, and with a small unit that easily fits in the balcony, you have space for baskets full of clothes to dry — posting my observations almost after a year of usage. ••••••••••••••••••• 🎁 INSIDE BOX ••••••••••••••••••• 6 nos stainless steel pipes 13 nos side caps for pipes 13 nos caps to lock ropes in the wall unit 1 no wall fix with 6 slots to lock ropes 2 nos ceiling fix with pulleys 6 nos nylon ropes 17 nos screws 17 nos nylon sleeves (numbers include space screw, sleeve, caps) Dimensions- Pipes: 8ft each Ropes: 32 ft each Ceiling unit: ~2.25 ft wide with ~4.5 in space between pulleys or between pipes Balcony where I have installed: 10.5 ft (L) x 4 ft (W) x 9.5 ft (H) ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ➕ OBSERVATIONS & PROS ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 1. By design, the individual pull of each pipe is possible. Some designs have a single pull for the overall system. Those are unstable, and you need to balance clothes on all pipes. 2. Compact drying unit - Overall capacity you get is ~48 feet for hanging clothes in a small balcony space 3. SS pipes to prevent rusting and ensure long life 4. Smooth pulley system to bring down or pull up the pipes 5. Screws are sufficiently long and good in number for both ceiling units to take the load of wet clothes 6. Manufacturer is thoughtful enough to include space screws, sleeves, and caps ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ➖ OBSERVATIONS & CONS ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 1. With a length of 8 ft, pipes start sagging a bit when loaded with clothes. For larger lengths, higher-diameter pipes should be used. One fits all doesn't work everywhere. To overcome this issue and prevent permanent sagging over time, rotate pipes (around the axis along the length) by 180 degrees every couple of weeks. Or you may choose a model with a lesser length of pipes or may even install two small units length-wise, but this will almost double the price. 2. Wall unit that is used to lock ropes at certain heights has slits for the said purpose. But the edges of slits are not rounded and thus slowly cut strands of ropes (visible in a couple of months) To overcome this issue and prevent damage to ropes, you may use a small file (tool) to round the edges. For the cons deducting one star as these are critical to the longevity and durability of this product. •••••••••••••••••••••• ⚙️ INSTALLATION TIPS •••••••••••••••••••••• 1. DIY installation can be done but should only be executed if you are well aware of what you are getting into. 2. Drilling holes in the ceiling is no joke, as you need to constantly support the weight of the drill machine and apply opposite pressure to the drill hole, that too on a hard reinforced ceiling. 3. Ensure that the proper size drill bit is used to accommodate nylon sleeves tightly. This hole on the ceiling can't be fixed like walls if accidentally enlarged, as it has to support vertical load, i.e., load parallel to the screw, which is perpendicular to the screw on the walls. If sleeves are loose, even after the screw is screwed in, it will be a bit loose, and under vertical load, the whole arrangement may come down. 4. To attach ropes to the pipes, I would not recommend taking it in via the hole in the side cap and knotting it there. The better idea is to fix the caps and tie ropes to the end of the pipes, right next to the caps. (check pics). This would transfer the load directly from pipes to the ropes, rather than first transferring it to plastic side caps and then to ropes. 5. Instead of keeping all pipes at the same level, you can have different levels. This way, it's easier to put clothes on all the pipes at once. It also helps in sun drying, if you prefer to keep it at a lower level after hanging clothes to provide some sun exposure to all of them. ••••••••••••••••••••••• 🏆 FINAL VERDICT ••••••••••••••••••••••• This is a quality product, and I recommend having it if you don't have access to the terrace or if it's far away from your floor. With easy to manage and compact system, you have close to 48 ft length to dry your clothes. In the past year of use, I haven't faced any issues other than those mentioned in the cons.

Good product but installation is a cheating
It's good quality. However reducing 1 star as installation was cancelled by Amazon / Seller. I had to pay double money to Urban company for installation.
