Lauf Carbonara Fat Bike Suspension Fork Naked Matte, 15x150 TA

A vast improvement over the stock fork on my mid-grade fat bike, but about a pound heavier than my straight carbon fork - noticeable to me but not a deal breaker. It is much lighter than a conventional fat suspension fork like the Bluto and that is also very apparent. The travel is short and bouncy - makes traversing small to medium rocks and roots smoother and easier to control, but could use better damping, and gets very stiff near the end of travel. It also changed the rake/trail geometry compared to the straight fork which made for more stable but less responsive steering. This is sort of a mixed bag but not necessarily desirable on a bike with 4.8 inch front tires.As a recreational rider, I am on the fence as to whether the improvement in ride quality is worth the cost, and I do notice the weight and bounciness compared to the straight fork. But it seems to be an extremely well made product, and I must say weirdly beautiful if you like something different. If I were an aspiring racer in a cross county fat bike league it would be just the trick. cob
