Q: Cut this cut rug carpet?

ABSOLUTELY, my contractor laid down indoor/outdoor carpet and his Carpet knife would leave the carpet with a lousy cut and flaky? I used this saw, I went through that carpet like a hot knife going through butter. Plus, I recommend you purchase the entire kit. I have ALL Milwaukee Battery tools. But I figured I would try this skill saw out. I am VERY Happy I did, the blade sharpens itself!!! But buy the battery, charger and saw. Trust me... However, it is ONLY designed to cut I think up to a 1/4 of this type of material or you could break the guide like I did. Lucky for me, it was within the 30- day policy, Amazon gave me a brand new Saw. KEEP THIS IN MIND THOUGH, I could not locate any blades for this saw and I told Amazon this before I purchased it. Which is probably why they did not want me to return the broken saw, so if my blade does go bad, just take a flathead screw driver and wear gloves to change out the blade, it is extremely sharp. PLUS, the BATTERY lasts a very long time, it is a lithium ion. Thank you, I hope this helps you. Russ
