Great quality true to fit value for your money

This shoe is being worn by my tomboy daughter who insists on playing hard on the playground asphalt. We have had them 5 months and they still look great. They hold up to play wonderfully while looking perfect for looking nice for the uniform. Slightly on the larger side (not a ton, just a tad), great skid resistance and can go from uniform to dress clothes easily.

I've been searching for a pair of affordable, quality, leather flats that are comfortable to walk in and have a strap to keep the shoe in place - these fit the bill pretty well. They have a non-slip sole, though I wouldn't try trekking in these in slippery conditions or up a steep hill as they don't have enough traction for that. They were not stiff at all upon arrival and didn't require much breaking in. I've walked in them for a few hours at a time, including up steep hills, and had no problem thus far. I got my normal size and they fit perfectly.Style wise, I do wish that the front of the shoe was 'slightly' more low cut to give it a bit less of a juvenile look on the larger sizes. I find the strap too wide for my tastes, but it's not uncomfortable. I also would have preferred a true buckle instead of velcro - the velcro adds too much the bulk/thickness of the strap, beyond not looking as nice.I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a mary jane shoe, or who anyone who prefers or needs straps on their flats to prevent them from falling off while walking (ie: those with narrow feet).

Happy with these shoes for the comfort and usability in a variety of situations. However, we did have to order a wide for a proper fit, and our daughters foot is regular and not wide at all, so be warned they run narrow...

I'm not a wealthy woman. I make enough money to scrape by. I cannot afford indulgences. At the beginning of the school year I shopped around to find a solid shoe that would last till my daughter moved up a size. The shoes at Wal-mart are in the $10 range so I figured that spending $20 would get me a decent pair of shoes. I was wrong, those shoes lasted 3 weeks. What the heck is my daughter doing in her shoes to completely wreck them in one week?!?! I did the math in my head $20 every month for a year is $240 a year! Wow! That is expensive.I needed a new plan. I asked around about what company makes shoes with good materials and will last at least at least till my daughter's foot outgrows it? A couple of names were thrown around but Hush Puppy I had actually heard of. I looked them up and was not excited about the price tag. I am so cheap... I reluctantly took the chance and bought this shoe. When it came in the mail I thoroughly examined it. It looked and felt strong. My daughter tried them on and they were too small. I even purchased a size up having read the reviews. I started the exchange process on Amazon, which was painless. I received the new shoe quickly and it fit. Fast forward to nearly a year later. The shoe has held up. I see no sign of wear besides a few creases in the leather. I will add a picture of the shoe to show how it has held up after all this time. Please keep in mind that I have never maintenanced these shoes. I don't really know how to properly take care of them. I assure you that I am happy though. I wish there were more brands, that I knew about, that had good quality. This is one of those instances where spending a little more saves you more in the future. I fully recommend these shoes and have told my friends with children to spend a little more and buy these. These shoes are still in good enough condition that they may be worn by a sibling.
