It works! That being said, it is the SECOND of this type, different manufacturer, but this one worked. It looks exactly like the AV cable setup looked and sounded. (It just looks a little blurry after watching a 4K movie and then playing the Wii, but the kids love it.HOWEVER.... the switch on the adapter seems to make no difference between 720 or 1080... but the picture is still good enough on the TV, fits the screen, no negative issues there. Just that clicking the button on the adapter just make no difference. but maybe my TV is compensating so we don't see a difference.If you are expecting to see any improvement in the screen quality, it's exactly the same as the AV picture output. While it;s pretty low quality compared to new stuff, the Wii is old tech anyway and you should not expect it to look like an XBox One output! ;-)My first try had no sound... THIS one is great in that my cables pass through the wall behind my wall mounted 55" TV and come out low behind the cabinet with the other stuff connected, but the Wii AV cables were too short to connect through that way, so they could be seen dropping down to the Wii, but now I can use a long HDMI cable to pass through behind the wall and it's all once again out of sight.If you have a dud, make sure you got it through Amazon, they were great about returning the bad one and getting me the new one that does work. hey, even the best companies have defective units, but Amazon refunded me the first one and the second was almost the same price and works. And of course Amazon even e-mailed me the return label to send the bad one back.

If you have a Nintendo Wii and a smart tv then this product is a must have. It works like it's supposed to, and setup takes seconds.

I recently purchased a 48'' TV and came to find that it did not have the analog jacks for my WII. I read numerous reviews on the many WII to HDMI converters and decided to splurge and get this one in hopes that it wouldn't be plagued by some of the problems people were having on the cheaper models. I am pleased to say that this converter works beautifully. It worked as soon as I plugged it in. Some people were having problems with aspect ratio on other models but it filled my screen completely with no cut off or noticeable streaching. It also looks amazing, I was playing with analog cables before and the difference is stunning, not sure if full 1080p or whatever but the difference is night and day. Some people were wondering about audio and it sounds great, I hooked a sound bar up to my TV and I could hear base and tones like never before. It also has a headphone jack on the side but I haven't used it so I can't really comment on it. I would definitely recommend this though, zero disappointment!
