I was surprised at how small this kalimba is! I've never seen such a tiny 17 key kalimba before. It is about an inch shorter than my others. It is also not as wide or thick. I love that, because I have small hands. Also, it is lighter weight than many other acrylics because of its tiny size. This makes it an excellent choice for children who are careful with their possessions (acrylic scratches easily) or adults with small hands. Because it is small, the keys are fairly close to each other. Those with big hands might have trouble hitting individual keys and might want to consider a larger model.This is a BEAUTIFUL, quality kalimba. The tines are already engraved with both letters and numbers, and they are smooth and rounded with no sharp edges. Every note rings true. There are no dead or stiff tines. For an acrylic, and especially one so small, the volume and sound quality is excellent. It has nice sustain, and the sound is rich. It does NOT sound cheap or tinny. However, if you are new to kalimbas, be aware that all acrylics are quieter than hollow wooden kalimbas. If you want a louder instrument, you would do better with a hollow kalimba.To sum up, I can't find anything to complain about. It is a beautiful, well crafted instrument especially suited for individuals with small hands. I highly recommend it to those who are seeking a small, lighter weight acrylic 17 key kalimba.

This was a Christmas gift for someone else. It was well packaged and came with unanticipated accessories.It was verrrrry hard to let go. I found it to be solid and beautiful. I wanted to spend time learning to play it but I knew better.My friend LOVED it.

This is truly a good quality instrument and so cute. I have 4 kalimbas and this one sounds really nice. All notes, even the high ones, resonate clearly and sound good. The shape of the kalimba makes it very easy to hold which is important since the acrylic ones tend to be heavier. Compared to my other kalimbas, the metal tines don't curve downward as much and I found that I actually prefer this because it makes it easier to hit the tines. The rainbow effect in the acrylic is mesmerizing and I find myself reaching for this kalimba more than any other one I own!

Very cool! The reviews dont fit the product though. I thought i was ordering a crystal acrylic kalimba that would have that rainbow effect but the one i recieved is just clear with no fun colors. Just alot of fingerprints. Lol they included a cloth for it which was nice. Love that it has a case and it sounds so pretty, though its my first kalimba so i dont have anything to compare it to yet.Bummed about the color thing. That was what sold me on this particular product. I wouldve gone with a wooden one had i known it was going to be so plain.Looks arent everything though.
