Review: Super simple well built replacement key fob shell - Hello anyone reading this...if you have made it this far dont bother looking at any other offerings because this rocks. I did the legwork and of all the key fob replacement shells for your Toyota Lexus key, this one is the best and here's why...its held together with 4 screws....solid, sturdy and secure. It was super easy to install, I did read the instructions but just because I'm that guy, and yes I will stop and ask directions.... that said it is so easy you can look at it and figure it out. Take old key apart....I used a side cutter (some people might call it a dykes) to snip off the excess plastic around the key blade base... once that is clean just put it together, they even provided shims but I didnt need them. Went together great, nice and tight no gaps and works like a champ. Well made and for the price.... OMG you cant beat this replacement key fob shell. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS PRODUCT!!! BTW, I just ordered a second one for my spare key.... thanks again Review: WORKS WITH IS300 - I will start off by saying this shell works with IS300 cars. To go into further detail, their last key shell was too big and the key wouldn't come out because it couldn't be pushed in and turned due to the size. Well this one has the rounded corners so that it matches the factory key, its actually a bit narrower than the factory key therefore, leaving enough space for the key to be pushed in and turned off/removed. The case feels like its made out of some pretty tough plastic it comes with 4 screws, a small handle to be used with the bit to screw the screws in. when I received the case I put the fob in, which requires you to snap it into place, so push it in until you hear a small click type of noise. Then I put the key in, which fits kind of loose so you have to hold it in place while you install the other half of the case and the screws, but I did not put the screws in to test it out and make sure I could remove the key when the car was turned off. Once I tested it out and everything worked like a charm I installed the screws. The holes for the screws seem to not be pre threaded, so when you install the screws you're actually creating the threads as you screw them in for the first time. The 2 sides to this is 1. Since I wasn't aware of this I found the screws harder to screw them in, making me believe I was doing something wrong, but once I figured it out I had no issues. This will make the screws tighter and less prone to back off over time. The bad side is that if you're not paying attention or aware of this you can install the screws crooked which could bother some people like me who like their stuff to be done correctly. I did notice that the side of the key "bottom side" doesn’t seal completely, and you can see the part of the key that is in the case. The key itself isn't loose and doesn't move so I don't know if this is due to the key cutout being too small or what. But since the key doesn't move it didn't bother me much. This is a great alternative to getting a new key cut which could cost you from $30-$60 depending on your location. Now keep in mind this is only a case, which will let you install your old key fob (if not damaged or lost) and your old already cut key. If you need a new fob due to lost or damage and still have another fob that works, you can get a new fob and program it using the other fob that still works. If you do not have any fob that is already programed, you will most likely have to take your car to the Lexus dealership and get a new ECU/programmed key. If you have a working fob I highly suggest you get a new fob and program it yourself in case you loose/break the other one. This is a great item and I will definitely get another one to have as back up. Thanks to Stauber for making this great item that will save me a few bucks on the flip side. And if you would like to test any other case please let me know.

WORKS WITH IS300
I will start off by saying this shell works with IS300 cars. Quality product, couple helpful tips
I decided to try the Stauber because of reviews that mentioned the fit, quality of plastic and the 4 screw assembly. Arrived just as described and quickly (2 days). * Note: the emblem is NOT included, I removed the one off my broken shell and superglued it on * Instructions are very clear/illustrated, and they included the star-screwdriver so you don’t need to locate/buy a tool. As others mentioned your key blade must be T-shaped for proper fit. Fortunately mine was. Assembly tips: I test-fitted everything before screwing it together - the module was a perfect fit but the key seemed a little loose. Once I got all 4 screws fully tightened it was solid and the seam around the edge of the shell was tight. Stauber includes plastic shims to help with fit but I didn’t need them. Assembly details: Screwing it together was fairly easy with the supplied screwdriver once I did this: Place the key assembly on a paper towel to prevent scratches. Then, holding the screw and screwdriver stationary, rotate the key assembly underneath it to screw it together (instead of trying to turn the screwdriver). The screwdriver is thin/hard to get a good grip if I tried to turn it, but if I held it steady and turned the key instead, it was a lot easier. The screws are self-tapping so the first time you screw them in it takes a little pressure. This is a good thing for longevity and a tight fit! Adding the emblem from old key case: Using a small (electronics) flat head screwdriver, I gently pried up the emblem from my broken old shell and cleaned the old adhesive off with some rubbing alcohol. I used a few dots of superglue and placed it on the Stauber shell using tweezers, applied some pressure to set it, and done. This case is a different shape than factory, but I’m happy - it’s well made and likely will last a long time. 5-star quality. Only negative is the shell does not have labels for the lock/unlock buttons like the original shell or other replacement options. If you aren’t familiar with the original key you have to guess which one is lock or unlock. If I have any issues I’ll update.

Finally..Great Solution to a Nagging Lexus Problem
Sometimes a new product comes along and you wonder why on one has thought of it before. Like others who provided feedback, my wife's Lexus RX 330 key fob keeps breaking after a couple of years. Until now, you really only had 2 solutions. Go to a Lexus dealer and get new key FOB for two hundred dollars or buy a shell with a blank key and find someone to to laser cut the key for twenty dollars or so. Both of these solutions are poor because all Lexus key FOB's eventually break. Having a broken key means that you could be stranded. This product is quite ingenious because it utilizes the existing key. You do not have to take a blank key and try to find a locksmith who can do laser cuts (if you are lucky). The Stauber plastic shell seems much stronger than any replacement Lexus FOB's. I did take one star off because the metal part of my key is not shaped like a "T". It is straight which explains why some feedback suggested that their metal key will just fall out. My key is not the original Lexus key which could explain why the difference. I do not give up easily. I copied a post where the person drilled a hole in the plastic shell to add in a 5th screw to hold metal key. As a safety measure, I also put some J-B Weld glue to the metal key area on one side of the shell (see photos). I also used the 2 shims provided. I've tested the new key fob and it works like a charm. Now that I know that this is a great solution, I just ordered 2 more as backups. Thanks Stauber!

Excellent replacement for a broken Lexus key
I have a 2005 Lexus ES 330. The plastic case cracked like it has for many folks. I couldn’t bare paying hundreds of dollars for a new key from the dealership when it’s simply the case and not the internal components that failed. I accidentally stumbled onto this product and started to research it. I looked at the lookalike fobs, but noticed some bad reviews where the plastic case doesn’t close completely. Who wants that issue, I don’t! This fob closes completely and is very sturdy with four screws holding it together. I don’t think this fob will ever crack! So it doesn’t look like the original Lexus key, so what! I mimic what I read in other reviews of different products where people detached the Lexus emblem from the broken key and glued it to the new fob. WORKS GREAT, Check out my photos! My first two photos are of my one good Lexus key. The remaining photos are of my bad key converted to the new fob. Be sure you have an original Lexus key where the metal part of the key is a “T” at the base. I had to break the case on the key portion by chiseling at the plastic. I was lucky and found a “T” key!

Great Solution for Broken Casing
This product caught my eye because it encases your current key (metal piece) and remote (button and battery housing). Other products on Amazon provide a blank metal key and make you get a new one cut. This product includes: Plastic case, 4 screws & Allen Key, 2 shims for proper fitting of the metal key, and instructions. Let's start with the positives: The fitting is great especially considering that there is no screws going through the hole in the metal piece of the key. Instead the metal part is held between the plastic case (the two halves of the case are held together with 4 screws). Shims are included for a snug fitting (I did not even need them). The curved design seems like it will prevent cracking if dropped. Now the negatives that were not a deal breaker for me: The design is bulky and not as pretty as the original, but something I am okay with sacrificing if it allows it to stand the test of time (unlike the original key fob). The product does not have any text markings on it (i.e. "Lock", "Unlock", logo). **Keep in mind that this product is not a solution to any transmitter problems that you may be having with the remote (if your doors were not locking/unlocking with the key buttons before, they still will not with this product). This product is just a plastic housing for the metal key and the remote transmitter).

GET THESE NOW! They are built better than the original Lexus keys!
These key cases are built like Lexus SHOULD HAVE BUILT THEM FROM THE FACTORY (but didn't). They are more than twice as thick, far stronger and much cheaper than the $450 dealership replacement keys. No locksmith necessary either. Just remove the transponder from the original key and place it in the Stauber unit, clean off all the black plastic around the end of your original metal key by using pliars and gently squeezing and twisting until the plastic crumbles away. Once the metal "T" end of the key is clean, place it into the Stauber unit, put on the top and screw it on. That's it! It took about 11 minutes to upgrade my keys because the "T" ends of the metal keys were a bit loose in the new case. I carefully wrapped about 4 layers of tinfoil around the ends and shapped it to conform to the space in the clamshell. After about 4 minutes of pressing the clamshell together & reshaping the tinfoil & trimming off the excess, it fit like a glove. I tightened down the four screws and it FEELS BETTER THAN THE FACTORY KEYS! The new larger, firmer head design is easier to use than the factory units--espeically in cold weather with gloves on. I've replaced all my factory keys with the Stauber units. HINT: if your Lexus factory keys haven't broken yet, I recomend buying at least 2 Stauber ends and put them in your glove box. That way you won't be stranded when your factory keys do break. Contratulations Stauber, you have two new customers for life!
