Smartish iPhone Xs/X Slim Case - Gripmunk [Lightweight + Protective] Thin Cover for Apple iPhone 10/10s (Silk) - Blues on The Green

I've had this case in black for my iPhone XR for the past 1.5 years and have been very happy with it. It's perfect - very durable, grippy, and still minimalist. I've dropped my phone several times with no damage. I stand completely behind this case, which is why I wanted to order another one.I just bought a refurbished iPhone XS for more storage capacity, so I ordered this case again but in the "Blues on the Green" color. As shown in the advertised photo, it looks completely navy blue with no hint of green. But when I received it, it's actually more teal than navy blue. Despite the name of the color, I purchased it because the picture shows a navy blue case. It's an absolutely awesome case but just not the color that I wanted.

Overall I like this phone case. It is well made and fits my iPhone Xs perfectly. A great value too. My only reservation is that I wish it was a bit 'gripier" on the sides. It advertises as having "grippy sides" but in comparing it to my old Apple silicone case I felt it was able to slide out of my hand a bit too easily. It they could make the sides as grippy as the Apple brand case this would be a really perfect case. I would not want the back to be more grippy though because then it would not slip easily into a jeans pocket (which is my complaint about the Apple brand case). In short, I want the back side smoothness of this case with the gripiness of the Apple brand case. Now that would be great (hint hint).

Used on iPhone X. Good value. Simple case, easy on/off the phone if needed, looks nice, feels nice. The three covered buttons (volume up/down and side) aren't too hard to push (a problem I've had with other cases). The hole for the ring/silent switch is big enough to use easily and frequently (a problem I've had with other cases).After several years (my elementary age son using this the last couple years), the black piece around the camera came out. This purchase was a replacement of the exact same case.

The case gets 5 stars because Silk nailed the design, and because the price is right. To be clear, this is a basic TPU (or whatever material was used) case, but it has the right amount of texture/grip, the buttons remain nicely tactile, and the mute switch is easy to access. I bought this to replace my Speck Presidio Grip case, which is a great case generally, but brittle - mine cracked between the lightening port and one of the speaker openings when I was putting it on, and I'm hoping Speck will do a warranty replacement. (I had the same problems with the iPhone 7 version of the Presidio grip.) This case won't be as protective as the Speck, but it also is thinner and much grippier. It has a lip around the screen, and it still protects (barely) even with a standard glass screen protector installed (the case comes with a film protector). The only suggestion I have is that the lip be slightly higher, so it would provide even more protection even with a glass screen protector.

I bought this after my Apple silicone case fell apart. It's a good value and feels like a quality case that will offer good protection. Nice that it comes with a screen protector as well. The texture on the sides helps with grippy-ness, but it's more slippery than the Apple case, and the back is smooth with no real grip. The blue case does have a green tint to it, but it comes out to varying degrees in different light, looking more blue in bright sunlight, more teal indoors. I can see why another reviewer called it royal blue, though to me it manages to stay just shy of that (thankfully).
