More a dough squasher than dough cutter.
I've been making all our bread for around 10 years now and my old dough cutter broke (the plastic handle cracked) so I bought this one as a replacement. It's nicely made and a good size for the job. I make a lot of different types of bread and my dough cutter is an essential part of my bread making kit. My main gripe with this cutter is that there is absolutely no edge on the tool. It is essentially square. It would have been better to have called it a 'Dough Squasher'. A dough cutter is supposed to CUT. To cut easily when downward pressure is applied. OK. Not the end of the world. A trip to the shed and ten minutes with the metalwork tools put a nice edge on the blade and NOW I have a first rate DOUGH CUTTER. Without an edge on the tool this is only worth 3 stars. With an edge - 5 stars.

Good Cutter for not too much Dough
This cutter really does rise to the occasion and is a cut above the rest. Its pretty cheap so even if you are living on the bread line you should be able to afford it.Anyway enough of the terrible pastry puns... I Have had this item for over 2 years now and I am very happy with the purchase. It has a good cutting edge and is very durable and easy to clean. The measuring marks on the edges are also useful when cutting pastry etc and is comfortable to use.One thing to be aware of, as others have also noted, is the corners are pretty sharp and could quite easily cause some damage and unintentionally incorporate a red tint to your dough!

Great product! Highly recommend
I love baking so purchased this tool to help me achieve a symmetrical, smooth, clean streak free finish on my cakes as well as defined edges. I don't actually use it for breads and dough etc. Here my pros and cons from using this itemPROs- Made from good quality stainless steel- Nice thick handle for easy comfortable grip- Laser etched measuring ruler on two sides with 0.5cm graduations enabling you to ensure your cakes are the correct height and symmetrical.- I use it mainly for when I'm doing the crumb coat layer on cakes. Also to measure the cake to ensure it is the same height all the way round to prevent making a lob sided cake- As the scraper has right-angled edges, you can hold it against a cake on the rotating cake table and spin the cake to remove excess buttercream enabling you to achieve and perfectly straight vertical sides.- Can be used to scrape up any excess so reduces waste dramatically.CONs- can't actually achieve a very smooth streak free finish on cakes when using buttercream - however, I don't think that's what the tool was designed for therefore not really a negative.OverallGenuinely really like this product. Would highly recommend.

You probably didn't know you needed one, but you do
I hardly ever use this to actually divide dough, but it gets use almost every day whenever I cook. Any time anything ever needs scraping, this absolutely does the trick. It keeps my chopping board and work surfaces clean of gunk - all it takes is a scrape and a quick wipe with a damp cloth to get rid of tomato residue, garlic bits, pepper seeds, whatever. Also great for moving around vegetables, swiping chopped pieces into a pan, clearing up scraps. It's an absolutely essential tool for me and I never would have thought I needed one until I bought it on the advice of J. Kenji Lopez-Alt of Serious Eats. This model is extremely sturdy, nice comfy handle and thick metal means it should last a very long time indeed. The etched measurement marks show no signs of fading either. Worth noting I suppose that the few times I have used it for dividing dough it has excelled.

Very Rough edges
I never thought that a simple item could be so poorly finishedThe steel is a nice heavy and the measurements clearly marked both in metric and imperial. It has a just off the guillotine edges, very sharp and not with a cutting edge but squareIt would make a good woodworking scraper removing wood rather than the flour or dough. The corners are so sharp that they come with nylon corner protectors, for postal protectionI spent ten minutes with a file and got it into a workable tool,Others in this price range are well fettled, if it were not for the protectors I might have thought that this had missed QCI would buy the one without measurements and same price. Like my others
